The Successes of President George Bush

Dear Reader,

I'm getting sick and tired of my fellow Americans

saying that the presidency of George W. Bush is a

failure. With the string of successes he's had,

nothing could be further from the truth. Let me list a

few:

1. He has successfully rid America of that troubling

budget surplus and turned it into a $500 billion

deficit.

2. He has successfully helped America's trading

partners have the highest trade surplus with us in

America's history.

3. He has successfully lowered the taxes for the

richest Americans and corporations at the expense of

99% of the American population.

4. He has successfully started another Viet Nam in

Iraq after lying to the whole world.

5. He has successfully pushed the price of gas up to

the highest level ever here in America.

6. He has successfully allowed American corporations

to dramatically increase their pollution.

7. He has successfully thrown about 10% of the

population out of work.

8. He has successfully allowed corporations to export

our best middle-class jobs.

9. He has successfully divided our country as never

before.

10. He has successfully driven our oldest allies away.

11. He has successfully united the terrorists as never

before (he said all along he was a uniter, not a

divider).

12. He has successfully broken his oath to uphold the

constitution of the United States of America.

13. He has successfully united Democrats (yay!) as

they haven't been for years (I told you he was a

uniter).

14. He has successfully driven me out of the

Republican party for the rest of my life.

You know, with a string of successes like that, it's a

wonder America is still standing.

Dear Mnmgla,

I DO think President Bush has been a great success. Your views are not all factual, they tend to be misleading and negative;

Lets look at the facts;

1. Home ownership is @ the highest level in American History.

2. The economy has grown at the fastest growth rate in 20 years over the last 12 months.

3. Passage of the USA PATRIOT Act: The USA PATRIOT Act brought down the artificial wall separating law enforcement and intelligence officers and allowed them to talk to each other as they work to prevent future attacks.

4.Creation of the Terrorist Screening Center- Which we greatly needed after previous administrations refused to fight terrorism.

5.Created a Prescription Drug Benefit under Medicare. In December 2003, President Bush signed legislation that will make prescription drug coverage available to 40 million seniors and people with disabilities through Medicare

6.Medical Liability Reform. The President proposes to address the skyrocketing medical malpractice premiums through national adoption of proven minimum standards to make the medical liability system more fair, predictable, and timely.

I could go on, and on..... Lets set the record correctly. We are still standing and we have a leader that says what means and means what he says, has values, has focus!! If we stay with President Bush we will be much better equipped to deal with today's threats versus someone like Mr Kerry that traveled the country with Jane Fonda protesting while we had american lives under fire.

Polls keep pollsters in business, and CNN on 24 hours a day....

The key to a lot of those polls is that odd...likely to vote qualifier tossed in almost as an after thought. The key to victory in my opinion is going to be those that are not likely to vote, but do, and in that segment of our society you will see Kerry carried to victory.

WE have alternatives, but those alternatives will not be made available for mass consumptions until every last penny of riches has been squeezed out of oil and the car industry as it exists today.

Military benefits and balanced budgets....military persons do deserve a nice retirement. However, we as a nation could go a long way to resolving the deficit if we stopped letting people from the military collect that retirement as early as 38....keep the retirement, but lets be fair and make it available at 65 like the rest of the country.

Lets look at the facts;

1. Home ownership is @ the highest level in American History.

Uhhh....News FLASH...home foreclosures are growing at a frightening rate in America.

2. The economy has grown at the fastest growth rate in 20 years over the last 12 months.

Negative 1.2 million jobs created in last four years under Bush, and the average middle class American has seen a 3 percent drop in their spendable income, while the rich (over 200K a year) have seen theirs grow by 22 percent.

3. Passage of the USA PATRIOT Act: The USA PATRIOT Act brought down the artificial wall separating law enforcement and intelligence officers and allowed them to talk to each other as they work to prevent future attacks.

Bush has wrongfully used this law to stop protests, and wrongfully had arrested 1,000s of innocent American citizens who dared to speak out against his policies and administration, the latest being 258 bikers on an evening protest ride here in NYC.

4.Creation of the Terrorist Screening Center- Which we greatly needed after previous administrations refused to fight terrorism.

Created AFTER Bush ignored the serious nature of the threat included in his daily briefing of August 6th that actually contributed to, or allowed 9/11 to happen.

5.Created a Prescription Drug Benefit under Medicare. In December 2003, President Bush signed legislation that will make prescription drug coverage available to 40 million seniors and people with disabilities through Medicare

Uhhh....this plan wrongfully keeps some 300 BILLION in profits in the drug makers pockets, instead of passing a law that allowed say medicare to do BULK PURCHASING.

6.Medical Liability Reform. The President proposes to address the skyrocketing medical malpractice premiums through national adoption of proven minimum standards to make the medical liability system more fair, predictable, and timely.

Maybe we would support tort reform in this area if it was couple with doctors no longer being able to police themselves, and if said doctors that do screw up (IE, the man this year that went in for a gall bladder surgery, and woke up castrated) were held criminally liable.

Yes, you could go on and on, and merely make the point that Bush is all about helping the rich and elite get richer at the expense of the middle class.

So somebody who puts in 20+ years in the military starting at the age of 18 (or whatever) should not be able to collect retirement once they are out?

As an energy policy, Kerry opposes drilling for oil in ANWR and other domestic sites and instead claims that he is for alternative sources of energy -- but then he objects to projects, like windmills, when they obstruct the view from one of his multi-million dollar mansions.
