The Successes of President George Bush

Dear Reader,

I'm getting sick and tired of my fellow Americans

saying that the presidency of George W. Bush is a

failure. With the string of successes he's had,

nothing could be further from the truth. Let me list a

few:

1. He has successfully rid America of that troubling

budget surplus and turned it into a $500 billion

deficit.

2. He has successfully helped America's trading

partners have the highest trade surplus with us in

America's history.

3. He has successfully lowered the taxes for the

richest Americans and corporations at the expense of

99% of the American population.

4. He has successfully started another Viet Nam in

Iraq after lying to the whole world.

5. He has successfully pushed the price of gas up to

the highest level ever here in America.

6. He has successfully allowed American corporations

to dramatically increase their pollution.

7. He has successfully thrown about 10% of the

population out of work.

8. He has successfully allowed corporations to export

our best middle-class jobs.

9. He has successfully divided our country as never

before.

10. He has successfully driven our oldest allies away.

11. He has successfully united the terrorists as never

before (he said all along he was a uniter, not a

divider).

12. He has successfully broken his oath to uphold the

constitution of the United States of America.

13. He has successfully united Democrats (yay!) as

they haven't been for years (I told you he was a

uniter).

14. He has successfully driven me out of the

Republican party for the rest of my life.

You know, with a string of successes like that, it's a

wonder America is still standing.

Sorry to dissappoint you, but serving during a time of war does not mean you have seen war time action....I am a Nam Vet here, but NEVER saw action in Nam as a case in point.

I didn't mean serving in a time of war, I meant serving in the war.

Very well said! Amen! I was never in the Republican party but I voted for one once as I recall.

You want to put up a falsehood, then agree to disagree....LOL

Do your research, and you will find out you are wrong. Even in times of war, the majority of troops are NOT in theatre.

Well, why exactly should a military person get to retire after only 20 years of work when Nurses, Paramedics, EMT's firefighters and Educators don't get that opportunity? I mean, they are all working for the success of our country, and no matter how you put it, each job is as crucial, if that is the basis for the early retirement?

Well put...does a soldier really put his life any more at risk than say a policeman? Any one that thinks not should remember 9/11

But there are so many jobs where people risk thier lives and ask no questions. I risk my life every day at my job and there is NO retirement package. and yes, though it is not combat such as in war time, I am in danger of being attacked all the time and I carry no weapon. I work with agressive teenage boys, all who are much bigger than I am by the time they are thirteen. and they are aggressive. But the existance of my job keeps them off of your block, and out of your hair. It makes your community safer. But I won't have a retiremant package at 38 or 98. Thats why I am in school.

This is not a reason to cut military retirement benefits. This is a reason to start a union & demand a decent benefit package.
