The Successes of President George Bush

Dear Reader,

I'm getting sick and tired of my fellow Americans

saying that the presidency of George W. Bush is a

failure. With the string of successes he's had,

nothing could be further from the truth. Let me list a

few:

1. He has successfully rid America of that troubling

budget surplus and turned it into a $500 billion

deficit.

2. He has successfully helped America's trading

partners have the highest trade surplus with us in

America's history.

3. He has successfully lowered the taxes for the

richest Americans and corporations at the expense of

99% of the American population.

4. He has successfully started another Viet Nam in

Iraq after lying to the whole world.

5. He has successfully pushed the price of gas up to

the highest level ever here in America.

6. He has successfully allowed American corporations

to dramatically increase their pollution.

7. He has successfully thrown about 10% of the

population out of work.

8. He has successfully allowed corporations to export

our best middle-class jobs.

9. He has successfully divided our country as never

before.

10. He has successfully driven our oldest allies away.

11. He has successfully united the terrorists as never

before (he said all along he was a uniter, not a

divider).

12. He has successfully broken his oath to uphold the

constitution of the United States of America.

13. He has successfully united Democrats (yay!) as

they haven't been for years (I told you he was a

uniter).

14. He has successfully driven me out of the

Republican party for the rest of my life.

You know, with a string of successes like that, it's a

wonder America is still standing.

Oh, I and many of us have thought of it. Many of us Republicans and Democrats alike were totally supportive of President Bush when he attacked the Taliban, and his support was wide spread and bipartisan when he took such bold and decisive action. Then, he uncovered his plans (that he has started firming up long before 9/11) to invade Iraq and topple the regime of Saddam Hussein and many people on both sides of the fence began question his judgement, began questioning his wisdom.

The economy...I live in New York, I remember that day. Now, think of this...who better than New Yorkers remembers that day, who better than us have paid the price with our blood? These people who more than any one else by a margin of 70 percent do not want Bush and the Republican Convention in our city, 70 percent of us DO NOT WANT HIM AS OUR PRESIDENT...surely in that is a message to the rest of the United States of America?

Why should it be? Registered Democrats outnumber Registered Republicans. Nearly 4 of every 5 people are registered Democrats in NY City, which is roughly 80%.

That is like going to the most conservative city in the country and saying 80% of the people in this city dont want John Kerry, so that should tell you something.

It tells me that this is going to be a very close election where the moderates and independents are going to be the deciding factor.

Besides the first WTC bombing in 1993, I think the last time we had an attack on our soil was Pearl Harbor. Please correct me if I am forgetting something.

With all due respect, if the majority population of a particular city, be it Democratic, Republican or Independent does not wish to be host to another groups National Convention, should that request not be abided by?

No because we live in a free society.

Why are you afraid of the Republicans coming to NYC. Do you think you might catch something?

I wouldnt care if either party were going to host their convention in the city as I watch both conventions to see if there is anything that I can learn from either side (which generally there is on almost every issue.).

It is this problem where some in the Democratic Party seem they cannot tolerate those in the Republican Party that causes much of the lack of progress in Washington. I truly believe that each side has issues where their idea may be a little better than the opposition, as neither side has a monopoly on being right or wrong, and compromise is the best sollution to achieving what is best for this country.

It seems that our government has gotten away from this principle over the past 10 years (or more).

I agree with you, Mrs. Vickers. And about the dems saying Bush "lied," I think that is a ridiculous assessment. First of all, lying is when you deliberately tell an untruth. When Pres. Bush sent people over to look for "weapons of mass destruction," he didn't know whether there were any, so he didn't lie. He was wanting to make sure there weren't any. I like that--better safe than sorry! And I believe he had a good reason to be worried about it. A family member of mine was in the military (until Clinton made all those cuts), and one of his "missions", which he did state side, was to help "make sure Saddam does what he said he will do." That, of course, was back in the early '90s and it was about...weapons of mass destruction (among other things)!

This family member, though cut from the military, still works with a company that helps the Dpt. of Defense and Homeland Security with security issues. These people know things that most people don't, and according to my relative, some of it is "hair-raising." I think, just my opinion, most people (Democrats or not) who are being very critical about Bush are just parroting just a small number of people who just simply don't want George Bush to be president because they want their candidate. They don't have any idea what's going on for themselves, but they hear something "sensational" about Bush and run with it. That's pretty irresponsible.

I was surprise to learn his step-sons were getting along with him and helping him with his campaign. On one video they have one of his step-sons is talking up on stage about Kerry. I think it's great how he gets along with them. You see so many families on Dr. Phil or something who have problems now days. Heh. XOXO.
