The Successes of President George Bush

Dear Reader,

I'm getting sick and tired of my fellow Americans

saying that the presidency of George W. Bush is a

failure. With the string of successes he's had,

nothing could be further from the truth. Let me list a

few:

1. He has successfully rid America of that troubling

budget surplus and turned it into a $500 billion

deficit.

2. He has successfully helped America's trading

partners have the highest trade surplus with us in

America's history.

3. He has successfully lowered the taxes for the

richest Americans and corporations at the expense of

99% of the American population.

4. He has successfully started another Viet Nam in

Iraq after lying to the whole world.

5. He has successfully pushed the price of gas up to

the highest level ever here in America.

6. He has successfully allowed American corporations

to dramatically increase their pollution.

7. He has successfully thrown about 10% of the

population out of work.

8. He has successfully allowed corporations to export

our best middle-class jobs.

9. He has successfully divided our country as never

before.

10. He has successfully driven our oldest allies away.

11. He has successfully united the terrorists as never

before (he said all along he was a uniter, not a

divider).

12. He has successfully broken his oath to uphold the

constitution of the United States of America.

13. He has successfully united Democrats (yay!) as

they haven't been for years (I told you he was a

uniter).

14. He has successfully driven me out of the

Republican party for the rest of my life.

You know, with a string of successes like that, it's a

wonder America is still standing.

Republicans are not racist, homophobe, or heartless. Nor are we almost all rich, born-again Christians or white.

--

But they are wanting to do with the Constitution that's never been done before. It's always been done to GIVE RIGHTS, but you and yours want to deny rights through the Constitutional Amendment process.

You should have left it at just plain ol' opposition. By pulling out the amendment process, you've turned off a lot of people.

Every president & politican has to decide which invitations to accept, and the NAACP has degenerated into a partisan organization no different than hundreds of others.

Boy did I start a firestorm. Sorry about that. It's just what I've felt and why I'm a Democrat. I wouldn't make broad statements to say "ALL" Republicans are rich, but I feel most are. Here's what I mean by Rich and why I think it differs from wealthy.

This administration to me exemplifies "Rich Republican". RICH is a four letter word these days. Yes, Kerry's rich, as in he has money. And he married a rich woman, who also has a lot of money. But John Kerry and Teresa Heinz Kerry have more than just money, they have wealth - wealth of knowledge, wealth of compassion, wealth of understanding those with different backgrounds. They also have different ideals. Teresa has spent her time working with the Heinz family trust, not just giving money away but giving it away responsibly. If a program didn't work she withheld funding or insisted on an oversight board to get a program back on track. She has supported environmental issues by building the country's most "green" building and she's worked on head start and educational issues. According to papers this weekend they're looking at health care initiatives of other states and she has worked hard to rebuild Pittsburgh. John Kerry probably could've gotten a deferement like Bush and Cheney, but instead chose to perform his civic duty. When he saw a disconnect between what the administration said and what he personally witnessed in Vietnam, he took the difficult choice, to protest - and perhaps save many lives by assisting the process of ending the war.

I don't judge a person by their wallet, but by what that person does with their wallet. Bush is Rich, but Kerry is wealthy. Bush will never understand, but Kerry understands too well.

Hollyweird-types

Yup, they're just middle class to working class poor, aren't they?

Dollarwise Republicans & Democrats are fairly well matched.

As for John Kerry's compassion, what someone is willling to do with the taxpayer's money is never a good judge of that. When Kerry was a down on his luck divorcee living on his own salary for the first time in his life ($100,000) he was only 'compassionate' to the tune of $145. Mind you, that was the same year, he bought himself an $8000 motorcycle.

George Bush has always treated people with dignity and respect no matter what the size of their bank account while the stories of John Kerry's insufferable pompus encounters with the 'little people' are legion and usually include the question, "Do you know who I am?"

In general, conservatives are more generous with their charitable contributions than liberals, and it is the Republican Party who offers poor AA families better schools and neighborhoods

You go, girl! My sil is black and she is of the same belief as you. She's been labeled everything derogatory because she's a conservative, prolife black woman. She and my brother are small business owners and let me tell you, their business saw tremendous growth and is still growing under President Bush's watch.

That's funny because all the reports I'm reading say the exact opposite about dear ole sneering George. Also, I just got e-mail stating that under Clinton the poverty rate had dropped 12% but under Bush, it had actually increased two years in a row. As to the record number for home ownership, again I think you're attributing that to the wrong President. As the economy continues to tumble and interest rates continue to rise you're going to find an increase in foreclosures. My neighbors just moved up from Atlanta where the foreclosure rate for his former company was in the 500-1000 a day range! If it were true that African American's were better off under George, they would be flocking to him, not clapping politely when he speaks and offering him a cold reception as reported by the Urban League. His "No child left behind" is being critized by most schools and teen pregnancy rates are the highest in his beloved Texas, as well as record deficits in that state upon his departure. And I don't know where you live that jobs are actually being added but Wall Street disagrees stating that the few jobs being added are lower paying and the economy is not heading upward yet and the overall job rate is still negative from the time George took office and 9/11 is not to blame. I really think you're mistaken on which President you're talking about. Clinton might not have had great moral character but under him I wasn't worried about losing my job or having family members die in Iraq for no reason. I didn't have to worry about family members traveling abroad either, as our stock in the world has fallen so low.

I won't go into the childish slam of Democrats being Vampiric. Come on! I may not like this Republican Administration but not all Republicans are bad. Stop watching all the Dem/liberal bashing on FOX.

BTW - where did you get your information on the "Do you know who I am?" stuff? I was on a flight with him to Boston once and didn't know he was on board until we were in Boston and I was getting my luggage out of the overhead. Ended up working in the same building as his offices in Boston and the crew that worked there everyday had nothing bad to say about him. As I worked there all summer, I can't recall anyone saying anything bad about him either.

A very good example of this is how President Bush is ALWAYS on time or early for appearances and interviews, etc. He has a reputation for this.

John Kerry, on the other hand, has a reputation for always being late and keeping people waiting. That says a lot about him, and it's not good.

I agree!

I have voted both Republican and Democrat, and I am neither rich, nor poor.
