The Successes of President George Bush

Dear Reader,

I'm getting sick and tired of my fellow Americans

saying that the presidency of George W. Bush is a

failure. With the string of successes he's had,

nothing could be further from the truth. Let me list a

few:

1. He has successfully rid America of that troubling

budget surplus and turned it into a $500 billion

deficit.

2. He has successfully helped America's trading

partners have the highest trade surplus with us in

America's history.

3. He has successfully lowered the taxes for the

richest Americans and corporations at the expense of

99% of the American population.

4. He has successfully started another Viet Nam in

Iraq after lying to the whole world.

5. He has successfully pushed the price of gas up to

the highest level ever here in America.

6. He has successfully allowed American corporations

to dramatically increase their pollution.

7. He has successfully thrown about 10% of the

population out of work.

8. He has successfully allowed corporations to export

our best middle-class jobs.

9. He has successfully divided our country as never

before.

10. He has successfully driven our oldest allies away.

11. He has successfully united the terrorists as never

before (he said all along he was a uniter, not a

divider).

12. He has successfully broken his oath to uphold the

constitution of the United States of America.

13. He has successfully united Democrats (yay!) as

they haven't been for years (I told you he was a

uniter).

14. He has successfully driven me out of the

Republican party for the rest of my life.

You know, with a string of successes like that, it's a

wonder America is still standing.

He was put onto Inactive Status in the Reserves in 1970, and was not put in Inactive Standby Ready Reserves until 1972, so he was not done with his service (he had a six year contract, originally, from 1966 until 1972).

Have to disagree with you there, because this IS America, we have every right to question, disapprove, disagree and criticize the President. When he does things that I severely oppose, I don't HAVE to respect him, especially when I didn't vote for him. I don't recall the Republicans having much respect for Clinton when he was in office, and if that was their right, then I also have the right to criticize.

Thanks Miffy, for clearing that up for me, I honestly didn't know! And thanks to your hubby also, for his service. Democrats we may be, but coming from a military family (by marriage, for me) we have great respect for our men in uniform. Attended a candlelight vigil last night to honor and remember those lost in Iraq, and pray for those still over there.

Well, my daughter will be disappointed to know that you're no relation to Miffy, the cartoon bunny! But be proud, your namesake has a very cute, educational show! :-)

After posting my previous message I find that you can't take credit for the previous one, can't find out who gets credit and have no opinion of your own. Tschah! Your type bores me.

I do see what you mean, and I completely understand your position. Because you stay out of most of the worst of this fray, and are so clear and even-handed with everyone (IMO!), I tend to read your posts with more respect and consider your points more seriously. So it's more civilized to (respectfully, of course!) disagree with you sometimes!

Well, okay, enough sucking-up on my part! ;-)

You two would probably get a kick out of the similarly civilized, "above-the-fray" attitude of this group:

www.BillionairesForBush.com

They are getting tons of media attention, mostly for their live appearances but their material on their website is great too. They make good points about the economic state of this country, I think. Plus they really give me a chuckle.

I am glad you two are on the boards and thank you for never getting shrill or mean spirited. Politics is ugly but we don't have to be! :)
