Kerry: Gaining Edge on Terror

"Senator John Kerry said on Friday he would seek to persuade voters over the next three months that he would do a "better job than George Bush" in protecting the nation from terrorism..." http://www.nytimes.com/2004/07/25/politics/campaign/25KERR.html?ei=5065&en=789ba5a17982cc66&ex=1091332800&partner=MYWAY&pagewanted=print&position=
"In response to a question, Mr. Kerry said he has given no thought to the possibility of a terrorist attack taking place in the midst of the presidential campaign. "I don't think about it; I can't control it," he said." http://justoneminute.typepad.com/main/2004/07/i_cant_conrol_i.html
He certainly can inspire confidence.

"Also, I hardly think that the US is openly shipping guns illegally across the border to Canada"
Well I hardly think that Canada is openly shipping POT illegally across the border to the US....
Did I mention violent crime is a fraction of what it is in the US, so gun control isn't a factor, I'd be curious to know what your explanation for it is? Remember, the 'makeup" of our population is almost identical, so before you start blaming a certain segment of the population (as some people have...), you may want to re-think. Funniest answer I heard? "It's too darn cold!". LOL
That was debunked. It turned out to be totally incorrect. I believe there was ONE terrorist (but I believe from 9/11) that did come though Canada. The news of the 'correction' got very litte media compared to the original incorrect 'news' that many of the 9/11 terrorists came through Canada.
BUT I fully agree that BOTH canadian borders and US borders need to be protected, but let's face it, the US gets a lot more illegal immigrants through it's SOUTH border than it's North, and any terrorist would have it much easier to get though from Mexico than from Canada.
