New International version, the message, New International Readers version, Young's Literal Translation, New King James Version, Contemperary English Version, English Standard Version, New Living Translation, Amplified Bible, and the New American Standard Bible! All of these use the word "murder" rather then "kill"!

Ah, yes...such great adjectives: New, New, Literal, New, Contemporary, Amplified (my personal favorite)and New.

You realize that these translations were produced by MEN and if anyone has ever messed up God's word it is men. That's the reason so many religions today have nothing much to do with God, they have a lot more to do with the men who use God's word to coerce others to do as THEY think things should be done and in some cases to futher their own personal agendas.

Well... the Bible was originally written by men....so your point isn't really valid. Of course some people use religion for the wrong reasons, and God isn't going to reward them. But not all religious people are fake.

I realize the Bible was originally written by men, which is another story. I also realize it was not written in one sitting, it is a collection of writings by different men.

I'm only saying that as time has gone on translations have continued to come out , along with interperetations of the translations, not to mention emphasis on certain portions and a tendency to completely ignore others. The certainty with which some people declare they know exactly what God wants them to do & which laws God wants them to pass (and others must obey) seems a little self-serving at times. It's just a little difficult to believe God would have been in favor of assault weapons, but then I'm no religious scholar.

I certainly do not belive all religious people are fake.

Well, I certainly would not condemn use of any of those translations. I use the King James Version myself. I'm quite conservative when it comes to my religion,
