Bush campaign obsessed with Kerry

Have a look at the two websites.  The first thing you see on the Bush site is a big picture of Kerry and the lead story about Kerry’s “makeover”, and links to lots of Kerry bashing.  I get the feeling that Bush wants to distract from his lack of ideas.

Look at the Kerry website and there is not a word about Bush, only what Kerry plans to do for the country.

I may not like Kerry very much, and I may wish that the Dems had chosen a better candidate, but at least he's not directly engaging in smear tactics, and at least his website gives information on exactly what it is he aims to do.

On the Bush website, there is page after page of tirades about Kerry, even a preview of Kerry’s acceptance speech!

Are you serious? Here there have been very hostile, hateful, full-of-anger ads against President Bush for months!

Hmmm... just saw one today on homeland security... nothing about Bush in there. In contrast, every Bush commercial I recall mentioned Kerry, or "the Senator from Massachusetts."

Don't you think that Kerry has an edge here. He doesn't need to mention Bush by name, He mentions Homeland Security, IRAQ, Tax Cuts for the Rich, etc, etc. For the last several months that has been the attack on Bush by the Democrats, we are all so conditioned, we don't need to acutally hear all of it, to 'hear' the attacks in our heads. Kerry, on the other hand is new to most Americans, we have to learn about his policies, and record.

Edge phooie!!!

You know these are called important issues and topics that people want to hear about, and the only thing that these 2 men should be debating. So you are quite right, no need to mention Bush just mention the issues so we all can hear beyond the hate. But yet here I am still listening to people charging Kerry with all kinds of allegations and flip-flops. Nothing proven yet, so I don't want to hear about it. I want to hear about homeland security, IRaq, tax cuts, healthcare, education, economy, and jobs.

So you don't believe that there are many people that are conditioned already regarding the negative attack campaign that has been waged against Bush the past couple of years? I guess for those that believe all of the rhetoric, then they wouldn't see it as attack. But I'll tell you, as a novice to this whole political arena, I certainly have. The Republicans haven't had the opportunity to bash every plan of Kerry's through the media, and during movie and music awards. I'm not saying that I agree with all of Bush's policies, but if you listen to most democrats, with the exception of Zell Miller (ok, some don't believe him a democrat, but he does) and Joel Liberman (he was the vice presidential nominee just 4 years ago, so I assume that he is respected in the democratic party), the democrats would have you believe that Bush has done zilch for the country, and that is just not true. Kerry doen't have to go out and dig anything up through old records to show the presidents true colors. Kerry would have us believing that his views are moderate. He is anything but moderate, I for one am glad that such information is out. The most amazing thing to me, is how clever the PR person is for the democrats, and how if one hears the same montra enough, they believe it, true or false, just as long as it doesn't threaten where they have hung their hat. And such could be said for Republicans too, the Democrats are just so much better at it.

You make an excellent point that the non-partisan Annenburg Foundation recently noted

<A Kerry ad released July 20 returns to a theme he and his Democratic allies have been pushing for months: a claim that tax incentives to locate jobs overseas is a big problem that is Bush's fault and that Kerry promises to fix.
