"How do you solve a problem like Tere-zah?"

All week I've been whistling the tune from "The Sound of Music," mentally substituting the name Teresa for Maria.

"How do you catch a cloud and pin it down? How do you find a word that means Teresa? A flibbertijibbet! A will-o'-the-wisp! A clown..."

Ah come one, woman are JUST as subject to criticism? Does this mean the next time Cheney tells someone to "shove it" people will be talking behind their hands and pointing and it will end up in the paper - maybe he'll even have to do a random drug test?

Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill...

You might be interested to know that the 911 Commission reaffirmed the doctrine of pre-emption and made a piont of saying that neither the Clinton nor Bush administrations felt they had enough clear cut information to seriously go after Al Queda or the Taliban before 911. They also said that

It has been a challenge to find common ground.

How do you equate Al Queda with Iraq? The Al Queda was in Afghanistan - why did we bomb Iraq and send our young people over there to die? Why didn't we narrow down the chase and get the people who were really responsible? Bush knew the terrorists were in Afghanistan, he wasn't certain about the Iraqii connection but it didn't stop him from going in and bombing the population and destroying everything so we could spend our tax dollars for the next many generations rebuilding it.

Now Bush is pretty sure it was really Iran that was the problem - so what's next Sherlock?

Oh let me take a guess....

OBL has the WMD's, that were to be used against the USA, in an attic located in the UAE that belongs to Colonel Mustard (a.k.a. Anti-Heinz dude). Also found at the scene in a suitcase was rope, lead pipe, knife, wrench, candlestick, and revolverr.... Sadaam was heard to say, "I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you pesky kids!"

I couldn't say, but I don't think the mullahs are in a very good position at the moment.

Ya think? It's too bad Bush has diluted our forces on a needless war. Our troops are being shot, killed and mained but hey, it's hard to tell the difference between Iraq and Afghanistan (where we shoulda been). Well now that another bad guy has popped up and he's alienated every ally we've ever had - maybe he'll decide to do a preemptive nuke attack. Whatever happens - we can depend on the Lone Ranger.

Oops. Many more incidents like this and it won't only be her friends who are asking questions about her medication.

'On a slow pass through Arizona last night, Teresa took the microphone and said, "Hello, Nevada!" Kerry leaned into his fatigued wife quickly and said, "Arizona." "Oh, Arizona!" she replied. "We're in Arizona. We're still in Arizona. and we are going to Nevada. If you've been in as many places as we've been in in the past 12, 13 days, even if you have a map, the hours make you mix them all up."'

Let's be fair. Other than her stem cell bombshell, has Laura been on the campaign trail or even in the spotlight? I have no doubt Teresa's tired. I've heard of several bands on tour doing this too. Let's try to keep the conversation above trivial shall we?
