Bush supporters give me a break!

I have just read through some of the info on the GOP thread and this will be my first time posting a discussion, so here it goes:

I truly feel like whenever I hear a Bush supporter speak, it is like listening to someone with Stolkholm syndrome, THEY ARE COMPLETELY BRAINWASHED!!! I mean, honestly, unless you are living in a cave (without internet, mind you) there is no way that the Bush supporters do not intake the same news that I do.

HE LIED!!! HE LIED!!! Let this serve as a newsflash to anyone who did not know. THERE ARE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. IF THERE ARE, HIS DAD SUPPLIED THEM. This is something that they were aware of befor the sent us into Iraq. That is unethical manipulation of your position of power.

For those of you who were just about to argue that we went in for "humanitarian" reasons to collapse the tyranical reign of Saddam, let me just halt you in your tracks. Why are we not in any country in Africa, in which there are civil wars, AIDs epidemics, and feminist repression running rampant due to governmental proceedings? Why are we not in China? Why are we not in Palestine (oh wait, I forgot, we are, sponsering their killing by the Israelis)? Becaus they do not benefit us? So what's the deal, we fight for humanity contigent on how much money we gain from it? Give me a break!

I read another posting about how Republicans are frustrated with the Democrats focus on how George Bush cannot speak. A couple interesting points: It worries us that he cannot speak because you'd think that after a couple years at Yale, the University rated number one on the recently released Princenton Review, that he would be able to process a few words. I guess the fact that he graduated with like a D average just does not count. Additionally, I would just like to call to attention the fact that over and over again science has come to the conclusion that the major difference between humans and the animal kingdom is our ability to speak, and our advanced methods of communication which in turn lead to organization and technology, thus the advancement of the human race. If he cannot speak, then he is getting closer and closer to the animal, right?

Finally, on the GOP thread several posters commented on how although Dems were calling them nervous, they were actually unwaveringly confident. Yeah, I would be too if my party had just rigged the last election!!

People, women, get to the polls!!

Let's make it like father, like son, one term!

Yes, joining the military is voluntary, and by joining men and women accept that there's the possibility they may be killed in a war. By volunteering, they are entering into a pact with all Americans. Their end is that they will make the ultimate sacrifice for America if it becomes necessary. Our end is that we will only ask this of them if it is an absolute necessity. As a last resort. Never for shakey reasons, under false pretenses or, heaven forbid, for profit. President Bush should have done all he could to avoid war, and instead he rushed headlong into one with bad intelligence, poor planning, and minimal support. That's a true disgrace.

You also seem to confuse Democrats with pacifists. While many pacifists are Democrats, not all Dems are pacifists. And the rest of your post is just ridiculous. I'm voting for Kerry. I'm not a "fool" or an "idiot" as you've put it, and Kerry is not a "ruthless liar." I think you need to stop watching so much Fox News.

actually the new york times called Chomsky the world's most important intellectual.

Michael Moore is a political satirist, as is al franken, and equivalent to the republican party's Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh. (I have never heard of a Rebublican satirist I dont think...)

But then there is Noam Chomsky... what can you tell me about Noam chomsky aside from what you just wrote? I assume you can disagree with his rhetoric, but can you say you know anything about who he is? I think there is not a Rebublican alive and probably not a democrat either who would have a public debate with Chomsky. His thoughts and views are very intricate. I would sure like to know what you know about Noam Chomsky... go on, tell me more.

In the educated opinion of a great number of America's top lawyers, and law educators, and even under the standards set by the Nuremburg trials the war is a crime against peace! There are only two legal justifications for attacking another country: self-defense, or if the Security Council authorises you to do so. It is perfectly plain that none of the Security Council resolutions relating to Iraq authorised armed intervention. We were mislead about hte waepons of mass distruction, and that is a lie, same as Clinton saying he did not have relations with Lewisnsky, but somehow, since nobody died, well I can forgive that one. But what with my friends over in Iraq, and so many dying, our soldiers, thier children and men and women... not forgivable, I do not think.

and your, "is not", albeit a valid and thought provoking argument, still does not hold up next to the truth.

I agree with you 100 percent..... Bush supporters sound like robots saying the same thing over and over......

Then they start to bash Kerry and to me it comes down to this:

If your are happy with Bush and the job he has done then vote for him, if not then vote for change!

Actually, the Chomsky was described that way on one of his book jackets, and subsequently, when he was interviewed by the NYT, he was questioned about that label. The interviewer was not describing him that way.

I wouldn't classify Ann Coulter as a satirist, but Rush Limbaugh certainly is, as is PJ O'Rourke, Ben Stein (in

I agree totally - and in my opinion I can't imagine anyone But a robot being happy with the job Bush has done.

Compassionate Conservatives don't jump the gun and send our young men and women to die before they know what they're getting themselves into. If Bush weren't so incompetent it would serve him right to have to clean up his own mess - but then he seems to prefer others cleaning up his messes. He has stirred up such a viper's nest of terrorists that people are coming out of the wood-work to joint the "resistance". A resistance against Bush and his preemptive ways.

Where in the 9/11 report does it say that? I have read it and can't seem to find that anywhere.
