Bush supporters give me a break!

I have just read through some of the info on the GOP thread and this will be my first time posting a discussion, so here it goes:

I truly feel like whenever I hear a Bush supporter speak, it is like listening to someone with Stolkholm syndrome, THEY ARE COMPLETELY BRAINWASHED!!! I mean, honestly, unless you are living in a cave (without internet, mind you) there is no way that the Bush supporters do not intake the same news that I do.

HE LIED!!! HE LIED!!! Let this serve as a newsflash to anyone who did not know. THERE ARE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. IF THERE ARE, HIS DAD SUPPLIED THEM. This is something that they were aware of befor the sent us into Iraq. That is unethical manipulation of your position of power.

For those of you who were just about to argue that we went in for "humanitarian" reasons to collapse the tyranical reign of Saddam, let me just halt you in your tracks. Why are we not in any country in Africa, in which there are civil wars, AIDs epidemics, and feminist repression running rampant due to governmental proceedings? Why are we not in China? Why are we not in Palestine (oh wait, I forgot, we are, sponsering their killing by the Israelis)? Becaus they do not benefit us? So what's the deal, we fight for humanity contigent on how much money we gain from it? Give me a break!

I read another posting about how Republicans are frustrated with the Democrats focus on how George Bush cannot speak. A couple interesting points: It worries us that he cannot speak because you'd think that after a couple years at Yale, the University rated number one on the recently released Princenton Review, that he would be able to process a few words. I guess the fact that he graduated with like a D average just does not count. Additionally, I would just like to call to attention the fact that over and over again science has come to the conclusion that the major difference between humans and the animal kingdom is our ability to speak, and our advanced methods of communication which in turn lead to organization and technology, thus the advancement of the human race. If he cannot speak, then he is getting closer and closer to the animal, right?

Finally, on the GOP thread several posters commented on how although Dems were calling them nervous, they were actually unwaveringly confident. Yeah, I would be too if my party had just rigged the last election!!

People, women, get to the polls!!

Let's make it like father, like son, one term!

in all honesty, wouldn't we all keep our money? I know I sure would. Than all my bills would be paid.

ah, but there is reason to single out Kerry who is campaigning in the issue of rolling back these unneccessary tax cuts (or however he phrases it), and I would have to include those like Ben Affleck and a local talk radio host here that kept his $48,000 but complained that he didn't need it and would rather see the government have it. There are PLENTY of organizations that are in dire need of funds, that is not news, it's common knowledge, these organizations directly support the people that get the government program $, for them to complain that they didn't need it, use it as a strick against Bush and a reason to vote for Kerry, but then pocket it? That has hypocrite written all over it to me.

I know of a free clinic right here in my town that is runned by Dr's, nurses, and ancillary staff, all on volunteer time. They could use some $ to help service those that need care. There's a local private shelter that feeds, and houses families, they are always low on food and personal items for their guests, they sure could do a lot with $48,000. I know that my town is not unique in serving the underpriveledged.

We are not talking about people that need their money to pay their bills, so my answer to you is no, not everyone would keep their $. Maybe I'm an anomoly, but in our town there is a huge phillanthropic spirit, from the local merchants, to the schools, to individuals that donate their $. Many christians give 10% of their earnings to their church on a regular basis, rich or poor. Recently a lawyer replaced about 15 or 20 bikes that were stolen from a charity organization, he read about the theft and the next day went out and bought them. Several children have been written about in the paper for donating all their birthday money (they asked for no gifts) to charity organizations, a child that recieved a heart transplant organized a fund raiser for a woman with a serious illness that needed help meeting the bills. My goal would be to get out of debt, so I have more $ to share, right now, instead of giving it to the banks.

Metrochick said it better than I could:

BTW, Kerry should donate his money to a government run by Bush? Bush's cronies don't need the extra cash.

hmm, ok. : ) If I was in complaining about not paying enough taxes, I would be doing so b/c I had money that I thought could be better put to use somewhere else, and I'd do it. I would slam someone else for lowering my taxes, and then pocket the money. My that's just me, and that I do what I say and don't just blow a lot of smoke to make myself look good.

I didn't suggest that Kerry should give his money to the federal government. He had the choice of checking the box for his state.

Whether he decides to give his money to his church, to support charities of his choice or whatever is his decision not yours:) So you're irritated that he doesn't "check the box" - that's your problem.

If Kerry actually believed what he preaches, then he should volunteer for the higher tax.

what's the deal? I await your comments and corrections. Then I can amend my first draft and hand it in and maybe you will give me a C... LOL I just wondered what happened to you. You are usually so quick to tell me I am wrong that I feel sort of lost today...

hope you are doing well and can comment soon.

I think maybe you dont know that I like to be challenged and to have my beliefs challenged, either it gives me a reason to come up with strong arguments, or it reshapes my thoughts on the matter, gives me more reason to go back, re-read, and find that I have grown.

and you make me a stronger liberal.

Sorry, Kerry loses again.

What actions are you referring to?
