Just A General Idea

I was just curious on everyones opinion on this up coming election. I personally want Kerry to win, cause all around, I dont agree or like Bush one bit. C'mon now, call me naive but was it completely neccesary to start the whole war in Iraq? I understand Sudam is a murding pysco dictator, but how come the families in America have to suffer because of that. Why is our economy so horrible that the people who desperatly need jobs cant get them, our oil is so exspensive and the lives of our americans are being killed because of this war. I know, the army and navy and all that military go in knowing they are risking their lives for us, and i greatly apperciate, just as any other american would, but is it neccesary. Im not one to be against war, but i deffiantly am against a war that is unneeded. And 9/11 in my opinion was handled soooo inappropriatly. Bush put that school and the lives in it in danger, he didnt act the moment he found out of America being under attack, whats up with that? Do we really want the person who is leading our country to be some kind of fool like Bush? We all need to vote and vote for Kerry or Nader. Just vote for anyone thats not Bush.

But enough of my opinion. I am really interested in reading and hearing alot of your opinions, Bush supporters or not. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I would think Clinton would have a major advantage, as Bush will not be able to experience a boom that Clinton did under the Tech sector and the dot.com's (which almost 80% of have gone bankrupt by the way).

At the rate the economy is going now it would probably be just over 1,000,000 per year for Bush, which is pretty strong numbers. I doubt we will see the job growth like we did during Clinton.

As I'm sure you'll be able to quickly realize, I am a firm Bush supporter and want everyone to vote and vote for anyone that's not Kerry. :) In response to your message:

1. If you think the war in Iraq is unnecessary, ask anyone who has served over there. My neighbor and cousin both did and they tell mind-boggling stories of the tortures over there and how grateful the Iraqi people are that we came. Not only do I think it is a good idea to stop a dictator before they come over here, but I also believe that if we have something good (freedom) we should do our part to extend that same God-given privilege to others.

2. Our economy is down at the moment because the American people are not spending, this has nothing to do with the President (Bush, Clinton, or Kerry-if he is elected). Pres. Bush did appropriately and efficently spur the economy with the tax credits that he gave families. That is all he has the authority to do. Interest rates are in the hands of Greenspan and those on Wallstreet. People can't get jobs because companies aren't hireing. The Pres. of the U.S. has nothing to do with that although Bush is trying to encourage lower taxes and interest rates to increase spending (which has been working rather well, it is just something that takes time).

3. Oil is expensive because of supply and demand. Companies aren't suppling it and the demand is high. Pres. Bush did try to pass an energy plan which would decrease our dependence on foreign oil (the oil currently in shorter supply) and it was rejected by the Democrats.

4. 9/11 is portrayed to have been handled inappropriately in the media. However, if you look back at that time, I'm sure you will remember the support that Pres. Bush did receive from everyone (Republican and Democrat alike). I'm sure he thinks there are some things he could have done better. However, we need to realize that hindsight is 20/20 and no one could have ever been prepared for something like 9/11. I'm sure if he didn't respond at the exact moment he was informed of such a situation, it was because he needed some time to think about what would be the best response (personally I don't think panicing in a school of a bunch of kids would have been a great idea). I think you are referring to the school he was at as the one he put in danger. I'm sure if he knew what was going to happen, he wouldn't have been in a school.

These are the reasons I like Bush:

1. He has a strong conviction of God and acts as if God will be his ultimate judge. It doesn't matter if you believe in a Higher Power or not, but the fact that Pres. Bush does means that he will act responcibly regardless of loud lobbiest, leftists, rightists, or any other factions. Kerry has said that he belives life is created at conception, but he will not let his personal views get in the way of his political views. In my opinion, if you don't let your personal views guide your policital actions, then what does? It is like a boat without an anchor that will be tossed to and fro with every wind. We need someone who is strong in correct convictions to rule our country.

2. He has a strong opinion of how situations should be looked at and he sticks to that. He doesn't change his opinion. On the other hand, Kerry did vote for the war and is now saying if he gets elected he will pull troops out.

3. The economy has really picked up since Pres. Bush has come into office. It went down under Clinton's Presidency and understandibly got worse after 9/11 (which is not Pres. Bush's fault). Now it is coming back. Economic growth is more than it has been in 20 years.

Before you vote for Kerry, please reference some unbiased resources or at least look at both sides and form your own opinions.

< it doesn't matter which one you use when comparing Bush with Clinton because Clinton had better job growth using either survey. >

Yes, Clinton had better job growth. He also had the dot com bubble duing his presidency, relative peace time, no explosion of corporate scandals (which were brewing during his tern), no September 11th, and he inherited an economy in a cyclical upswing vs. one in a cyclical downswing such as Bush inherited. One can hardly make a fair comparison between the two.

It really kills me that some of the same people who scream that Bush military actions are all about oil are the same ones screaming that they have to pay too much for gas. Which is it? Do you want a president who cares about our oil interests or one who doesn't?
