Kerry lied to get purple heart?

The records should be able to shed some light on this if Kerry chooses to open them to the public.

'Larry Thurlow, the skipper of a boat trailing Kerry's, says in the book that he saw Kerry suffer a buttocks wound earlier that day in 1969 when he was hit by fragments from his own grenade while trying to destroy a Viet Cong rice cache.

"He dishonestly transferred the time and cause of the injury to coincide with the action later in the day and claimed that the cause of the injury was the mine exploding during the action," the book claims.

In Kerry's version of the incident, he says a mine struck his swift boat - wounding him in the buttocks and arm.

Kerry maintains he braved enemy fire from both shores to race to the bow of the boat and pluck Rassman, who had fallen overboard, out of the water.

But, the book says, "Many participants in the incident state that neither weapons fire nor a mine explosion occurred near Kerry during the incident.

"Unless one believes in the amazing coincidence that Kerry got two wounds in the same place on the same day, he lied to get the Purple Heart," the authors say.

Rassman is backing Kerry's presidential candidacy and he supports Kerry's version of the rescue.

I don't know if you listen to the morning show on Air America, but they do this thing that cracks me up - when ever people start getting too focused on these ridiculous micro-psuedo-scandals, they have a guy scream "Can't we talk about the issues...we're fighting for our lives here!!!!????!!!!" Makes me laugh everytime...especially because the next thing I do after listening to the radio in the morning is step out into the super-high threat level world of NYC, past the bomb sniffing dogs and the guys with big machine guns. Alston and Kerry were only in combat together for two weeks! Egads.

Funny how one's impatience for the picayune is in inverse proportion to their opinion for the person being dissected.

...and in direct proportion to the number of times the picayune has been dragged out, paraded around, and tried to be made into something other than what it is.

Other countries such as France, Italy, etc. any member of NATO could just as easily deal with world matters - why is it that the US always has to be the force. If we are all members of NATO then they should also be active in ensuring world peace.

"How can anyone excuse his not making the best decision when it involves bombing another country and putting our young men and women at risk."

Have you ever had to depend on information from other sources to make your decision? It is like the ole I tell you something - pass it on - the story grows larger with each telling. Now I am not in his shoes so I can't say exactly what information he was receiving from those people that have been appointed to gather information. If you are privy to what he was told I will gladly listen if you would like to share. Tough decisions are never easy to make and sometimes the person making them must stand alone and brave those who doubt him.

Oh I am sorry - have you ever tried to chase a groundhog out of his hole? It is not that easy to chase down someone who has millions of acres to hide in. Plus with their religious following anyone would be willing to hide Osama. If you know of an easy way to find him - put your butt on the line and show them how.

What should we do with them then? Place them in a religious camp and let them sit around a campfire singing Praise Allah songs?

Try checking out Exodus 17:8 thru 16, and while you are at it you may also want to read about Moses leading the Isrealites out of Egypt and how he let the waters come back together and kill all the Egyptians that were in its path.

You might also want to look at the time frame that the 10 commandments were sent down from God to Moses - hmmmm happened before Moses let the water kill all the Egyptians - so he broke one of God's commandments.

You may also want to look at Leviticus 20:1 thru 27 where God lays out the guidelines for people that should be put to death.

Also check out Exodus 34:6 & 7.

Maybe you should have read the ENTIRE Bible before you try to quote scripture that you cannot back up. Yes it does say that - but you have to read the WHOLE thing to understand the context. It would be like reading one line of a How to Manual and the you screw up the whole thing because you were uneducated.

Maybe the big corporations should invest a little money to make it possible to run on corn oil or something more economical. Maybe the big corporations should be stopped from throwing their money at the government in order to keep their place secure. If you are going to argue about gas prices there are plenty of ways that we could be getting around without gas.

sandnsea wrote - "John O'Neill has had 35 years to produce these so-called self-written requests for Purple Hearts. 35 years. You file FOI paperwork, just like the press finally did with Bush. You seriously believe if this stuff existed, it wouldn't have been released when Nixon was going after Kerry DURING Vietnam??? He can't release stuff that DOESN'T EXIST"

No the stuff exists, Senator Kerry has disclosed only a selected portion of his records. Specifically, Senator Kerry has not disclosed the records leading to the award of the three purple hearts, the Silver Star and the Bronze Star. There are also missing performance evaluations (called “Fitness Reports”) for certain periods of his service as a Navy officer. Senator Kerry should authorize the complete release of his military records by filing a simple two-page Form 180.

And Kerry is such a poor man isn't he - if he is so concerned with keeping jobs in the country then why are most of the HEINZ products done out of the country?
