Kerry lied to get purple heart?

The records should be able to shed some light on this if Kerry chooses to open them to the public.

'Larry Thurlow, the skipper of a boat trailing Kerry's, says in the book that he saw Kerry suffer a buttocks wound earlier that day in 1969 when he was hit by fragments from his own grenade while trying to destroy a Viet Cong rice cache.

"He dishonestly transferred the time and cause of the injury to coincide with the action later in the day and claimed that the cause of the injury was the mine exploding during the action," the book claims.

In Kerry's version of the incident, he says a mine struck his swift boat - wounding him in the buttocks and arm.

Kerry maintains he braved enemy fire from both shores to race to the bow of the boat and pluck Rassman, who had fallen overboard, out of the water.

But, the book says, "Many participants in the incident state that neither weapons fire nor a mine explosion occurred near Kerry during the incident.

"Unless one believes in the amazing coincidence that Kerry got two wounds in the same place on the same day, he lied to get the Purple Heart," the authors say.

Rassman is backing Kerry's presidential candidacy and he supports Kerry's version of the rescue.

Kerry proposed in his acceptance speech at the convention this very idea. Basically he said we've done great things before, we can develop other fuels besides oil.

I guess we will have to see if the lure of the almighty dollar will keep him from following through if he becomes President.

Well this has already been answered, but I'll do it again. Kerry doesn't own any part of the Heinz corp. His wife owns only 4% of the stock & has absolutely no say in how it is run. Mr Heinz, a republican Senator, now deceased, built plants in other countries to make local variations of ketchup products with local ingredients. I guess it was OK when he did it.

< And Kerry is such a poor man isn't he - if he is so concerned with keeping jobs in the country then why are most of the HEINZ products done out of the country? >

He's got a lot more money than I do. But the real wealth is his wife's. Most of the property people talk is owned by her. I read that she had him sign a prenuptial agreement, but it is just unverified rumor.

But why are we talking about his money? What's that got to do with things? Isn't Bush rich too?

Not saying that you aren't a good person for doing your job but none the less God didn't say anything about here are the ten commandments but if it's your job it's okay to break them."

The commandment is against murder, not killing, it's a mistranslation that's haunted scripture since Henry VIII unfortunately.

Killing as part of war is NOT violative of the ten commandments, it isn't murder.

Never denied that he was wealthy - simply making a reply to what you had written.

And George Bush isn't? Most politicians are...the point is how those politicians work to make life better for the people who aren't. I am not a wealthy person but I get by, isn't it rediculous that a billionare gets more tax breaks than a person working for minimum wage? You work for the armed services that is how you depend on your living right? Well millions of people depended on the jobs that were outsourced you talk about one company...my husband came from england to work for a company here just for his job to be outsourced how rediculous is that? Imagine leaving all of your family to be in the land of opportunity and having your job taken out of under you who do you fall back on then?

So the tiny little Iraqi children who are getting blown apart aren't being murdered? If your children were in the war and were killed would you not feel that they had been murdered?

<<...and in direct proportion to the number of times the picayune has been dragged out, paraded around, and tried to be made into something other than what it is.>>

Sooo glad we finally agree on something, and looking forward to finally not having to re-read all that stupid garbage about
