Hello all. Just found this board and thought I'd start a discussion b/c lately I'm disillusioned w/ both parties.

Obviously, many ppl are reluctant to vote for a 3rd party candidate b/c they feel like it's throwing away votes. But, just humor me.

Imagine that voting for a 3rd party candidate would actually count - would you still vote Dem v Rep and why? If, like me, you find both parties to be flawed, where would your ideal 3rd party candidate stand on the issues?

Kelly

P.S. What's a troll? I saw the term in the post about getting rid of religion, and I think I know what it means but want to be sure. Is it that the poster is actually against the argument s/he presented but pretends to be for it while making the argument seem totally ridiculous? Or am I way off base? That whole thread confused me! *LOL*

Welcome o2bindixie!

I think 3rd parties play an important role in reforming the 2 major parties and in rare instances, end up replacing one of the dominant parties which has become irrelevant, so there are definitely situations in which I'd vote for a 3rd party, even in our present system.

That said, it ain't gonna happen any time soon. ; )
