Kerry's in big trouble now... the latest swiftvet ad (ad number 2) is if anything more devastating against Kerry than the first...

Check it out at http://a1281.v125028.c12502.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1281/12502/v0001/eaglepub.download.akamai.com/12502/sellout.wmv

It's about time this issue was brought up.

To all

If the republicans have problems with Kerry running on his war record they can debate on how he will affect the war on Iraq rather than slander him on what happened 30 years ago. I think you guys have forgotten to debate on issues that really matters. If you think he is unfit it should be because what he will do now not what he did 30 years back. This is taking focus off the current war in Iraq which is going very badly. Death toll has reached 1000 and many more are amputed and injured for life who are going to lead their remaining life as vegetables. I think those are more important issues. Why is the media not covering that? It is kind of sad. The priority of people on this board and in the media is so skewed.

The only thing I can say about this ad, is that Kerry again brought this upon himself by his actions after he returned from VietNam.

Did he actually think that the veterans would forget what he did when he came home?

Did he think that the POW's who were tortured, and were forced to listen to Kerry's testimony to the Senate, which the NVA tried to use against the POW's to break them, that these people would actually forget and forgive?

Kerry has opened up a very messy can of worms, and I think he is now beginning to regret it, as the veterans are a very large, and usually silent block in the voting sector, and I think Kerry has opened a hornets nest this time.

The guys who are denouncing kerry right now are the once who said he served honorable in 1996 which is just 8 years back. The bottom line is that many of them supported Kerry and praised him and his service. It is only now that they are against him when he is running for president. I think that is the only thing that tells us that these veterans are spinelss who are against Kerry.

From everything I have read, John O'Neil has never said boo about anything until now.

<<"...amputed and injured for life who are going to lead their remaining life as vegetables.">>... that's pretty insulting.

First, why are you posting the incomplete sentence. HOw is that insulting to anyone? I am telling what is happening to the soldierd in this war in Iraq. That is what is happening, but the media and people on this board are concentrating on Kerry's 30 yo record.I think that is insulting to the soldiers.

I don't know if anyone can find it on the web, but I would realy like it if someone could find the actual footage from that senate speach that was used in the add. I watched a clip on the news a few weeks back with the FULL statement that was partially quoted in the add, and the question he was asked that brought this response. I don't remember exactly how it went, as it wasn't a big issue at the time. I do think after listening to the whole statement it was not nearly as terrible as this add made it out to be. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I wasn't fully grasping the converstion at the time, but I know that there were only the two most awful sounding parts of his statements in that ad and none of the remainder of what was said. I would hope that you all would at least try to find out everything that was spoken at the time, and how it was said, before you make a final assumption about this man.

Just a suggestion,

John Kerry is the one who brought up the Vietnam War in the first place. He made his experience there the centerpiece of his campaign. All we've heard for months on end from him is, "When I was in Vietnam..." The poor guy has NOTHING else to brag about. He sure can't run on what he accomplished as a Senator--nothing to brag about there! Now that the Vietnam strategy obviously isn't working, he trying to shift his campaign to the issues, but it's too late. It's too bad the Dems didn't pick a different candidate. John Kerry sure can't stand up to the heat.
