Kerry's in big trouble now... the latest swiftvet ad (ad number 2) is if anything more devastating against Kerry than the first...

Check it out at http://a1281.v125028.c12502.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1281/12502/v0001/eaglepub.download.akamai.com/12502/sellout.wmv

If that's all you have heard, then that's all you have chosen to listen too. The guy has a right to be proud of his service, and this sure as h*** isn't the first race ran with military service or the lack of as a huge issue. I'm really geting sick of people acting like being proud of military service only has a place in an election if you are sure no one might bitch about what they think of you. I'm sure some people disliked me in the army, but I have every right to be proud and spout off about it if I want too. It's not like he had a crystal ball and could see that "Oh no! If I say anything good about my service then this organization will rise up against everything I've ever been awarded for."

Then you haven't read enough. O'Neill was hired by Nixon to go after Kerry on June 16th 1971. Then Kerry & O'Neill had a debate on the Dick Cavett Show on June 30 1971.

Do a google search using Kerry, Nixon, Cavett, O'Neill & you get 1790 responses.

< From everything I have read, John O'Neil has never said boo about anything until now.>

<<I don't remember exactly how it went, as it wasn't a big issue at the time. >>

But it was a HUGE issue when Kerry said it. Many vets directly relate Kerry's testimony with the hateful reception they were given when they returned home.

I am well aware of that. Not only that, he made Kerry look like an idiot back then.

He has been silent since then however, until now.

The key word is NEVER. you claimed O'Neill NEVER said anything til now. Then a few hours later, you admit you were aware he did attack Kerry before.

So what was your point here today?

at 8:39 you said;

In '71, O'Neil disagreed with Kerry's anti-war stance. He never questioned his service, as far as I know.

What is insulting to the soldiers is liberals believing they KNOW and SPEAK for/what the soldiers feel despite the fact that these soldiers VOLUNTARILY joined up under the current Commander-in-Chief--you know, the guy continually denigrated by liberals on this board, namely, President Bush.

Many vets I speak with look on these "I support the troops but not the president" types with disdain.

Here is a link to his full statement.

By the way, investigations into the Winter Soldier Investigation showed that at least 50 of the 150 people Kerry claimed that testified were found not to have served in VietNam at all.
