Kerry's in big trouble now... the latest swiftvet ad (ad number 2) is if anything more devastating against Kerry than the first...

Distorting facts about ones service to make oneself look better is another, and Kerry looks like he may have done some of this (ie Cambodia, etc)
This is a sampling of why this has become sucha huge issue, in my mind anyway. Kerry has held out his service as a reason for hiring him to be our President. He brought out his band of brothers as a sampling of the support for him from military personnel that serviced in Vietnam. Now we keep hearing stories change, and many embelishments from the original reports of service. And any dispute of Kerry's facts are called smear. Isn't it our responsibility to question what is what here and not just take anyone's word for it?
People are concerned that the present White House manipulated reports in order to go to war against Iraq. Here we have another candadite for the White House that has clearly manipulated fact to serve his own agenda....shouldn't we be concerned about that?
And you got this statement from the FREE REPUBLIC?
Here's a more reputable version without the opinions of anyone:

What is insulting to the troops is they come home injured and get stashed away with inadequate medical care. What is insulting to the Vet's is that Bush has cut their benefits and seeks to cut more.
You feel it is wrong to speak up against atrocities committed by our own soldiers in war? Where is your conscience? Look at Abu Ghraib!!! It happens. Our soldiers are not infallible. No one is infallible.
Would you prefer to turn a blind eye to the ugliness of war? Because that is what you are doing.
It took a great deal of courage for John Kerry and others to testify at the Winter Soldiers hearings. Just like it took a great deal of courage for those who exposed Abu Ghraib to come forward.
That type of courage is something GW Bush does not possess.
