I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

Freedom of speech. I consider it unreasonable to fire someone just because he asked a question someone else didn't like. I hope this guy got a job with a better employer. By the way, does anyone know what the question was that he asked the president?

President Bush didn't fire him; his company fired him. And I'm sure it had more to do than just asking a question.

Did you ever read an employment application? I thought you could be terminated without cause at any time.

Rich people do help out other people in need-both by charitable giving and by investing in the economy providing jobs for everyone. Perhaps they want to give their money to where it might actually help some poor people, rather than turning it over to inefficient, wasteful government bureaucracy to be spent on pork barrel election campaign promises. In any case, the idea of "spreading wealth around" from rich people to poor people is called communism-it is a proven failure. It takes away people's incentive to work, produce and invest at all levels of income. The top 10% of the richest people already pay something like 90% of the federal taxes-exactly how much should they be required to spread around?

That's some attitude-if your side loses there must be cheating going on. Sounds familiar.

It is? Any statistical evidence to support this "fact"? What are you proposing, that we work to eliminate small businesses and have everyone work for big, perhaps government run corporations?

Gee, what would I propose.....

LEts start with just a few things:

1. Close loopholes, and eliminate laws that subsidize American companies moving jobs off shore, so that we stop decimating the American Manufacturing Base.

2. Increase the Minimum wage to a wage that allows people to meet bare basic human needs. $12.00 an hour I would think a far point to strike for in this endeavor.

3. Build a serious deterrent wall to stop the illegal influx of aliens from our Southern Border with Mexico, and begin the task of gaithering up and repatriating them to their home counties. Right now, it is estimated that we have upwards of 14 million illegal aliens in this country, the overwhelming majority for Mexico. Now, the overwhelming majority of these illegals use our infrastructure, but work illegally under the table. Some will say they do the work we are too proud to do...I would counter that by saying they actually bring a pricing structure to many forms of labor that make it impossible to compete, and in doing so, are contributing GREATLY to the destruction of the American way of life for America's middleclass.

4. Pass laws that create huge fines and prison time for any and all American citizens and companies caught using illegal aliens in the work force...fact of the matter is, if they can no longer find work, they will no longer have a reason to come.

5. Pass a national law making English our official language, and anyone seeking to live here should be required to learn to speak, read and write the language, or be deported. Our nation spends far too much money providing interpretors, printing up official forms in other lanquages, and bending over backwards for those to lazy to learn to speak English in an English speaking land, with those of Spanish decent the worst offenders, perhaps because of their ever growing numbers....sorry, but not interested here in having Mexicans over time popping out enough babies to makes us Mexico's annex for population overflow and welfare.

6. Begin imposing VERY STIFF tariffs for any country that has unfair trading practices with American. Would also immediately withdraw from NAFTA, and cease endorsement and involvement with the World Bank.

These things would be a start to solving the problems in our nation that are literally creating a genocide of this nations middle class.

Are you kidding? Bush is one of the best presidents we've ever had. Why is everyone listening to liberal media. Why don't we look at his track record instead - um, successfully removed one of the worst dictators in history? Need I say more? How come we grew up hearing about how awful Hitler was and comments like "How did the United States let that happen? How could people just stand by and watch." Then another Hitler pops up and everyone wants to turn their cheek. Oh ho hum, no need to do anything there. Hypocrites?

People claim we have so many problems at home. Give me a break. The poorest people in this country are richer than the rich people in many other countries. I have an Aunt who milks the welfare system for all its worth. The only problem this country has is that people are lazy, fat, and unwilling to work for what they have.

I can't believe people are really on the "Kerry bandwagon." The guy stands for nothing.
