What will you do if Bush wins?

I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

I don't know how Miffy responded to this, but I find it ironic. When I first found these boards CL Whren was being bashed for NOT welcoming new posters.

"With all due respect intended, your constant flow of WELCOME TO THE BOARDS is very distracting to the threads. Is it really necessary to greet each and every person, instead of the occassional group hello to new posters?"

"1. I am 49, and hearing Greenspan announcing for the whole world to hear that the Social Security benefits I and my wife have built up over some 30 plus years might not be there is a serious WAKE UP CALL. Just how much more real is this potential reality in light of the Bush administrations record Federal Deficits?"

If this was a wake up call then you really haven't been paying attention over the last decade. I can recall an article from almost 10 years ago that outlined how Social Security would be out of cash by 2020sih. This is really nothing new at all. It was why my husband and I decided to make changes for our longterm financial plan back then.

"Seems to me, that you are trying to hijack a thread about Bush being re-elected, and turn it into your podium for your pro-life positions."

It was a Kerry supporter that brought up the quesiton of why a Christian would vote for Bush. It is only natural that a statement Kerry makes about being a Catholic, believing Catholic doctrine, but supporting a women's right to choose to end her child life would be dicussed. You don't have to respond if you don't want to.

What's to hijack?

If Bush wins he could well appoint Surpreme Court Judges that would tip the scales in favor of abortion restrictions. Discussing abortion is absolutely a concern re this topic, and certainly more topic oriented than your posts complaining about the cl welcoming new posters to the board..

Go for it if you (not you specifically) want an abortion. It should be between them and their bankbook too. Not on the government's dime and not covered by our insurance companies.

and off our tax dollars. Pay for your own procedure.

Personally I like the welcomes, makes up for some of the bashing that goes on lol! I am not a Bush fan but was warmly welcomed by miffy, she's very non partisan in the welcome dept. and I appreciate it.

<<"stop trying to hijack this thread">>......Now thát IS rich coming from someone who spent 5 posts "debating" back and forth about how he doesn't need a civil welcome to the board. LOL!
