I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

<<"Oh...so you want to deny the ethnic cleansing now taking place in the Sudan, and in parts of Iraq as it veers ever closer to a civil war fought on ethnic and cultural lines.....">>......I am denying nó such thing. In fact it is exáctly why I object to your using the term genocide so loosely. Last time I looked there have not been systematic and

No, you don't have to sign up. It's just my view that if you feel strongly enough to say something, you should be willing to listen to what others say ( not including abuse )to you individually.(sp?) To me it seems in poor taste and lacks courage. Like I said, it's just my view. If you are going to make judgements, they should at least be informed ones, not based on narrow uninformed ideas. Basicly, stand behind what you say.

What I'm truly afraid of is that Bush will issue a draft. It seems very likely if he is reelected; people aren't going to want to enlist anymore to be sent to their deaths. I would hate to see my loved ones be sent off to war against their will.

Sorry, I stand by my use of the word....just because the bodies are not lining the streets in a pool of blood does not mean Bush has not left a path of carnage and debris in his wake...the man is dangerous, and is practicing an emotional/psychological genocide on our nation's middle class.

I do stand behind what I say, and I do stand ready willing and able to defend my positions on the various issues I am concerned about...however, having said that, I can also state that I have no real interest in having my private email littered with a bunch of assorted emails. Maybe I am wrong, but a debate on an open board should not then be moved into a private setting.

Same here, I have a son just 18, a dd 16 and a ds 7.

Kerry hasn't voiced his opinion on the draft either. I'd like to know either way both candidates' stances on the draft.

<<"Typical Bush Republican...they cannot argue the points because the man's record is so deplorable, so start throwing up smoke screens in an attempt to cloud reality and keep the masses eyes off of the truth....shrug.">>......ah I was beginning to wonder when this would come up. You know, when running out of arguments, the

Hmm, not all that religious yself, but my recollection of Reagan is that he was quite frankly religious and even more frankly pro-life.

< How dare you be so smug? What do you really know. Tell me about the single mother who was hit by a drunk driver and unable to work for over a year. She couldn't walk without help, had to have multiple surgries, was blind in both eyes for three months and in another eye for another three months. Was she unmotivated to improve herself? Do you think she cried herself to sleep every night because her children were hungery? I know for a fact, that she wanted to improve! How? That woman was my mother. You have no idead the physical pain and emotional pain she went through.>

Smug about what? I never said we shouldn't help those who are truly in need. I said those who work and better themselves should not be forced to spread the wealth around to those who won't-I didn't say to those who CAN'T, I said to those who WON'T. I don't have any problem with government assistance to those who actually need it-that's what government assistance is for-temporarily helping people out who become incapacitated and can't help themselves. It's not supposed to be about "spreading the wealth" from rich people to poor people, as the poster to whom I was responding suggested. But I also happen to believe that individuals like your mother are NOT helped by tax increases. Doesn't mean I don't care about her, just means that I understand how the economy works-tax increases=fewer jobs=shrinking tax base=LESS revenue, not more revenue. It's been proven time and time again.
