What will you do if Bush wins?
| Fri, 08-20-2004 - 12:02pm |
I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

Every now and then we can find SOME common ground :)
The unemployment rate is at 5.6 percent, which is actually quite low, historically. You know, the Dems keep quoting the number of jobs lost, when the number that actually matters is the unemployment rate, which has been declining steadily for the past year. In other words, if we lose a million jobs but there are only 5 people unemployed, do we really need to gain back the million jobs? Just to illustrate, Kerry recently promised to create 500,000 new jobs in the state of PA-only problem is, there are only 380,000 unemployed people in the state of PA. The "number of jobs" is sometimes not all that relevant of a statistic.
Ya know, that's just my point. It's not your body that is being poisioned and killed, it's an innocent baby's. But I will not argue with you any longer. You seem to be an angry, hipocritical hardhead and I wish you luck in the future. Oh and by the way, I am going to have a baby. Thanks for asking. He or she is due in Feb and I will feel safe and secure with President Bush protecting us from future terrorist attacks. I also have a daughter that was unplanned and deeply wanted. She is almost 3. I had two miscarraiges in between the two. I know what it's like to lose a child and it's no different for a woman who had an abortion and suffering from post abortion syndrome. Legalizing abortion has just made humans equal to a bunch of wild animals that eat their young.
God said "turn the other cheek" and I think we did that several times in the past with other bombings and attacks. Aren't you sick of it??? By the way, it took terrorist app. 10 yrs. to plan the attack on America and they were ready to fight before we went to war. So lets do some math, that would make George Sr. in presidency for 1.5 yrs, Bill Clinton for 8 yrs and G.W. Jr. 5 months or so. How come you expected Bush to stop an attack on our nation? Did you vote for Clinton? Where was he? What was he doing? Setting the future bombers free? Yep. I don't blame G.W. for that attack on our nation. That has all been addressed and cleared up IMO.
And by the way, I never really talk much about abortion. I just read such disturbing things here about it that I had to educate you on the issue. God does allow you to do whatever it is you want, but you must face the consequences on judgement day. **He does not support abortion.** If you aren't Christian or Catholic then you need not act like you know what Christians and Catholics are all about. If you want to say on a message board that you support a women's right to commit murder, then you should expect someone to try and show you the light. I am only 27 years old and I know not to depend on SS. I was told a long time ago to find a way to save and support myself when I retire! It can't last forever. I don't even work. I am a stay home and proud of it. We are doing great on my husbands commission check every month and we even sold and bought a house last year at this time. We've invested wisely and I am not scared of what the future holds.
I will end my posting with a short message saying, do your research on issues before you act like you know everything. And don't get angry when someone disagrees with you. Oh and when you say I am trying to turn this thread into a pro-life thread, I feel that you are trying to turn this thread into your thread, a pro kerry thread. I just pray that I don't have to look at him and listen to his wife for the next four years. UGH...
And yes, I too may have grammatical errors or incomplete sentences because my fingers are fast and I don't have time to proof read.
GO BUSH!!
Ok, I'm sorry your cat's no feeling well, but aren't you the person who said I lacked courage because I won't accept e-mails? Maybe I am confused...in any case, I don't think it's necessary to clog the board up any further with this. :)
Ah, gotcha. I am soon to be gone for the night, just so you know. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
Additionally, two very real facts of importance in my view:
1. Middle-class disposal income has actually dropped by over 3 percent during Bush's time in office, while the disposable income of those making over $200,000 a year has actually gone up by over 22 percent. Now, I would view this as a clear fact that Bush's policy are created in a fashion to greatly favor those in the upper income brackets of our nation.
2. It was shown recently, that Bush supposed tax cuts actually favored the rich and elite, as their share of the tax burden actually decreased, while the percentage share paid by the middle-class has increased under the Bush administration. Further, most middle class families on average recieved a tax break of about 400 dollars. Problem is, too give that tax break the federal government drastically cut financial support to various local service agencies and programs. That money was made up by increasing taxes on a local level...so, bottom line, Bush's supposed tax breaks to the middle-class were and are in reality nothing more than a shell game. Sure, he looked good when those checks arrived in the mail, but the net bottom line reality was that we simply had to pay those taxes to a different enitity.
