I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

Most people I've talked to that are opposed, make it a point to use passages from the Bible to claim that Gay marriage should not be permited. I personally could care less what a gay couple does, so long as they don't include me.

In some instances you would be correct. However, in other instances, jobs of the right caliber and level are not out there right now, and for some it could be a long term career killer to take just any job to be employed. So, do they ruin their careers, or sit back and try to ride out the storm?

A typical Republican mindset....

Sure, there are jobs out there, but if it costs more for childcare, transportation and other expenses than the job pays, should one take the job just for the sake of having a job?

I loved the class, wish I could take another. I did take Spanish 1, and am waiting in limbo before I can take 2.

Sorry we have gotten off topic, this was about Gores lack of speaking skills. We were referring to polititions needing speaking classes. In case anyone was wondering.

The latest Republican spin I heard, was that at the beginning of an Economic BOOM it is normal to have large portions of the population living in poverty and not having medical coverage! That one cracked me up, but what scares me is how many in the rural states where Bush has his base seem to be buying into it.

Even though this isn't an abortion board but a Bush discusstion board I wanted to say my views on abortion. I think there should still be able to have it available because people will make their own decisions anyways on what to do with life no matter what you try to tell them. I personally think the only reason someone should abort a baby is if there was something seriously wrong with the baby or the mother's health. Other wise the mother could always put her baby for adoption because I'm sure there are tons of families out there waiting for a baby who can't have one on their own. But even if there was a law to stop abortion people will still find a way to do it illegally. At least with a law they can do it in a healthy way and place and with a professional. Ya know? I don't like killing babies either, but like I previously said: people will have their own ideas and ways anyways no matter what you protest or try to tell them. It'll always be there. XOXO.

Well if God said you shall not kill, what about not suffering a witch to live? Isn't that killing? What if there was something wrong with the baby and if having the baby would have made the mother and/or both die what would you do? XOXO.

I do though have serious problems with the very real fact that families feel those of us without kids (married with no children, and/or single) in some way owe it to the American family unit to sacrifice for their behalf. You cannot tell me it is fair that I have to pay the same school taxes with no kids that a neighbor with ten kids pays. Does not take a rocket scientist to see who is getting the bargain out of the deal.>>

Yep every family with children is begging for your money to put into their schools. Buy the way schools are not just paid for with your property tax, and chances are that if that family really has 10 kids as you keep claiming, they are likely to have a larger property and therefore pay more property tax. Tax funds also come from local tax and sales tax. Most likely those parents with 10 kids put a good chunk of cash into sales tax for all the clothes, and supplies they have to buy. Lets not forget that even in public schools there are many expenses the parents are asked to pay to school on top of your's and their precious tax money. So yes most families with children are likely contributing more to the school system then those with no children.

It's not like I don't fall into this same problem, but it has been discussed a long time ago, and I will have to live with it. It's not fair, but I'm not going to cry about it. And those elderly aren't being greedy, they had their money put into the system the same as the rest of us. It was underfunded for them because as the Babyboomer name suggests there are alot more of them then ever before. Top that off people generally live alot longer. So the SS system will have to pay alot more out to them then they planned for. Let's not forget also that many dissabled people get SS also, another factor in not having the funds needed to pay everyone what they should get.

Again, whaaaa it's not fair! There are and have always been alot of things in America and everyplace else in the world that are not fair. If you don't like it quit crying on these boards and go do something productive about it. You still have not convinced me that what you are complaining about is so unfair. I paid for taxes for a long time when I had no kids. But it doesn't matter because the school system needs the money and I will gladly do my part if I have kids or not.
