I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

I'm not talking about McDonald's positions. There are many positions out there if people look. My dh took something starting out part time 25+ hours when he lost his job. He was out of work very little time, didn't need unemployment and was full time within a couple months. Not a McDonald's position either.

Anything has to be better than Unemployment though.

Dear Venus:

The fact that you personally are fine with this type of discrimination does not mean it is not discrimination. You for instance bring up and admit that often it is the single person without children that is asked to say stay late, while the married person is allowed to go home. Is it true that said married person might have to find a babysitter, or perhaps miss a PTA meeting...sure is. But, what about the social plans and life of those without children...is that PTA meeting any more important than say the single persons pre-arranged plans to have dinner with their parents?

I too was in the military, and like you, as a single person I was expected to live on base in the barracks, while by the very virute of being married a soldier of exact equal rank was granted a housing allowance and food allowance to live off base...surely you can see the discrimination in this, even if it did not or does not bother you?

Various assorted laws in the past made it illegal for women to vote, made it illegal for whites and blacks to marry...those laws were eventually overturned and changed because they were discrimanatory upon their face. Laws, rules and tax codes that penalize one group of citizens based upon the fact they have no children are also discriminatory upon their face. However, to effect change, there has to be a loud enough public outcry to make it happen, and finally in this day and age the voice of those without children is growing loud enough to be heard.

NEWSFLASH!

No challenger has ever beaten an incumbent if he didn't have a double-digit lead going into the incumbent's convention.

With all due respect Renee, Lou Dobbs on CNN just 15 minutes ago while interviewing a Republican Congress Woman pointed out to her that during the Bush Administrations time in office our nation has had a net JOB LOSS of 1.2 million jobs, so your claim that we as a nation have over 1 million more jobs now than when Clinton was in office is a bold faced lie upon its face.

It's called churning, some jobs are cut and others created.

A Republican Party pundit on Fox made those statements.

Well, I could introduce you to some very serious profession corporate head hunters who place mid-level management types who would disagree with you.
