I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

NEWSFLASH....no incumbent President has ever been stupid enough to go on National Television on the first day of his convention and announce that he cannot win the war against terrorism.

It is not like that everywhere. My dad has been through 3 jobs sence his lay off, not Mcdonalds, but not good paying. He can't get back into his field, and cannot afford reeducation, to change fields.

<<I live in New York, with a HUGE population, but being one who supports the Democratic ticket as most in New York do, I rarely come into contact with any one that supports Bush...that fact does not mean I am ill informed, nor does it infer or suggest that I need my perspectives broadened. >>

It is clear from your posts that you don't have a very good understanding of what conservatism

As I said before the single person does not have to take those odd hours and can stand up and say "no, I can't come in today." And as I said I am married with children and my hubby still agrees to take others shifts, just because he's a nice guy.

The only tax illegals don't pay the same as the rest of us is federal income tax and FICA, and a good percentage of them pay that as well.

I had to come back and add something about this. I don't see it as discrimination. However I do recall talking to one married woman, about a rule in the billets that we could not have sex in our rooms. Her reply was it should be that way, and if we want to do that we can pay for a hotel room. Now that is discriminatory.

Let me see if I have this straight in regards to understanding thoughtful, kind, caring, loving conservatives:

1. We like our guns, and want our rights to own assault weapons to hunt deer with protected at all costs.

2. We do not like fags, and do not want them being allowed to be married. In fact, as is pointed out in our Republican Party Platform, not only should they not be allowed to get married, we do not even want them being allowed equal rights. (Yes, that is in the platform.)

3. We are law abiding rightious Christians, most of us BORN AGAIN, and we feel morally that abortion is wrong, so we want the United States Congress and Senate to legislate our moral values into law. Killing babies is wrong, and we stand prepared to blow up every abortion clinic from here to the Mexican border to make our point.

4. We as God fearing conservative Christian all American citizens are going to be out in front of every Planned Parenthood Clinic every day interferring with peoples ability to ingress and egress the building trying to change a young womans mind about getting and abortion, but do not even think we will be there after the baby is born to adopt it...after all, we are Christians who don't believe in birth control, so we have plenty of our own thank you very much.

5. Yeppers, Bush is not very bright, and he has not really done very much for us in these past four years, BUT HECK, he throws a mean game of horseshoes and lives on a ranch down in Texas and attends church every Sunday, he must be OK. Yeah, he was addicted to cocaine, and did a lot of drinking, but then hell, I like my Pabst Blue Ribbon too, so who am I too judge him on that.

6. Yes, it is true that Bush lied to get us into that Iraq thingy, but BY GOD we are proud Americans, and its our duty to pack our sons and daughters off to war! You would be surprised at how many of my buddies down at the American Foreign Legion buy me a beer now that my dear Billy Bob lost his life in Iraq.

I am sure I might have missed out on a few of the nuances of being a sensitive, loving, caring conservative, so please Renee, feel free to educate me on whatever I missed.
