I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

If you put aside the controversy of the war in Iraq and whether you support it or not, there are other key issues that you may be ignoring in your support of the president.

My largest concern in this election is that George Bush is blatantly anti-women. When he first took office, he closed the White House Office on Women's Issues, and began to dismantle programs aimed to help the working woman, such as The Equal Pay Initiative.

On the 26th of August, census data was released which confirmed that women are worse off under the Bush administration. Last year, women earned 77 cents for every dollar earned by men. The pay gap has widened to 76 cents per dollar. The unemployment rate for women is 37 percent higher than it was when Bush took office. Also, over two million women have lost their health insurance. As a woman there is no other side. Bush and his presidency don’t work for you and our half of the American population.

Hi, I'm new to the board & site - actually I'm English, and I was just curious if anyone who's discussing Bush's future has thought of how he's regarded overseas? Obviously the current UK govt have worked very closely with him, but would you like to know what the majority of English people think of him? I know virtually nothing about his internal US policies, eg taxation and so on, but I can tell you what nearly everyone I know thinks of him. If you want to know.

Good Morning:

Excellent Post with some EXCELLENT points that I hope women of American seriously take into consideration. Bush though is against more than just equal rights for women, though I admit they as a group are ONE OF HIS TARGETS. We all know he is anti-gay, and though the Republicans and Bush will deny it, they and he are homophobics as well. There can be no doubt he is also bent on destroying the fabric of Middle-class America as his economic statistics show....IE, in the last year alone 800,000 CHILDREN have joined the ranks of those living in poverty. A vote for Bush is a vote to push us as a nation closer to the brink of becoming a third world country.

You are correct.....contrary to Republican attempts at political spin, the cold sad reality is that there is a desparity between jobs created and jobs lost of 1.2 million. So, as much as the Repukes wish to brag about the rate of job creation, there is NO JOB EXPANSION, bit JOB LOSS AND SHRINKAGE in this administration.

Sure the Repukes want to bask in what they percieve as a glorious first night of the convention, but they did not mention jobs, the economy, the deficit, medical coverage, fixing social security. WE ARE NOT A ONE ISSUE NATION as much as they would wish it so.

They cannot and do not pay these taxes and many more, such as Worker Compensation, unemployment and the list goes on...yet, their children use our school systems, the families use our hospitals and FREE CLINICS to name but a few, and it is widely known that they are allowed to collect foodstamps and welfare as well.

When is our nations leadership going to step forward and admit that the time to tighten up our border with Mexico is NOW, and the time to rid our nation of those here illegally is NOW?

Morning Lianne:

Think if you take the time to read through many of my posts in this thread that you will find not all Americans blindly support Bush, and you will also learn even more about his lies and deciet, and our internal politics.
