What will you do if Bush wins?

I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

For those of you who do not support Bush, I would strongly urge you to read the thread I put up on this board yesterday about clearing up Republican/Bush lies...well worth the read in my opinion. Might serve some of you Republicans to read it as well.

If you put aside the controversy of the war in Iraq and whether you support it or not, there are other key issues that you may be ignoring in your support of the president.

And you are so right. There are so so many other key issues to consider besides this blasted war. So many of these issues will directly affect the "little" people, our daily lives, our immediate futures. But the distraction of the Rep ads have really diverted attention away from those issues for which this president has no real plan and away from his failings in these areas.

I know virtually nothing about his internal US policies, eg taxation and so on, but I can tell you what nearly everyone I know thinks of him. If you want to know.

Pray tell. When I was in Mexico I met a Canadian and

hi, I'm writing this from England so forgive me a stupid question - am I correct in saying that Bush is Republican and Kerry is Democrat or is it the other way around

Yes, you are correct. Kerry is a Democrat, the party of the people, all the people. Bush is a Republican, the party of the rich and arrogant who hate those unlike themselves but espouse religious faith in a god who loves everyone.

Donna, I think our brief discussions on other thread pages may have given you an idea of what i meant when i referred to the English opinion of Bush.

The man is a joke. I'm sure you've all seen pictures of him reading to a small child while holding the book upside down. Or looking through binoculars that still had the lenscap on. I won't go into the many and varied Bushisms - that's been done very efficiently by others who have dedicated whole threads to this inexhaustible topic. Personally I quite like the English language (or even the Americanised version lol), and it irritates me when the Leader of the Free World (sic) is incapable of following the most basic rules of usage and grammar.

This is just what I think of him as a person though. But the thought of him leading the US in the 'war against terror' is like the idea of giving an overgrown two-year-old a gun and just hoping he only shoots the nasty burglars.

Yes, we do have computers, and Dean taught the Democratic Party how to use said computers to level the playing field much to Bush's chagrin. Glad you and your children vote, as this election by far is the most important election year in over a century. Putting every other issue off the table, the very fact that Bush might have the opportunity to name three Justices to the Supreme Court is reason enough alone to vote for anyone but him.

I just wanted to hear you say it. I couldn't agree more. I appreciate your frankness. The man is embarassing as a man and as a president. Truly. I like Kerry a lot but my vote would have been for anyone who ran against this incompetent embarassment of a president.

Again, I couldn't agree more. IMO this is the most corrupt administration since Nixon and far worse than that. My kids and I used to stand in line to vote from the time they were 18 and could vote. They have all been taught to think for themselves.
