I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

I'll tell you what I am doing if you will tell me what is the point of your question? Are you trying to attack me personally?

Not only your vote, but those of hopefully over half of America...course, as we so painfully found out in 2000, winning the majority of Americans votes does not mean we will get Kerry into the Whitehouse.

Donna, thank you for having the sense to know that just because I think your President is laughable, it doesn't mean that i have a problem with you as a people.

To be honest, I'm equally as embarrassed to be governed by Bush's poodle, Tony Blair. It's so humiliating to be seen before the rest of the world as running at America's heels and incapable of making our own decisions as a nation.

Yes, Kerry must win the electoral college...been like that for quite some time now. No one seemed very worried about it until the year 2000, then there was brief talk of attempting to get it eliminated.

In theory, you are correct in your assumption in regards to majority rule. However, our founding fathers in America in the hopes of protecting all states and individuals rights created the Electorial college with each state recieving X votes depending upon their population base. Unfortunately, at the time it was created we were a much smaller territory, and do not think they could imagine the ever changing demographics that could create a situation where a Presidential Canidate could actually win the majority of the votes in a general election and lose the Whitehouse. In reality, this has happened twice with the latest example being the 2000 election when Gore won the election, but was kept out of the Whitehouse Via the Electorial College.

The pictures though is far more sinister than that. For Bush to have even had a chance at being placed in the Whitehouse he needed to win Florida which was known to be a state that would go Democratic....BUT....Bush's brother Jebb conveniently happened to be the Governor of the state. Polling places in primarily democratic districts were closed early, votes were not counted because of supposed dangling chads that the Republican poll workers deemed made them invalid...yes, many Americans actually had their votes VOIDED. Realizing we had a crisis of immense propotions, various litigation was started so Bush supporters went to the Republican controlled Supreme Court and got them to order the recount taking place ceased, and defacto CROWNED Bush President of America. So, he is not and never will be the president of America in the minds and hearts of the majority of Americans.
