What will you do if Bush wins?

I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

Hi There:

Just a small personal note here. Do not know if you noticed it, but there has been a post made asking us all to behave ourselves for 24 hours while viscious attacking posts are removed, and members warned of infractions of the rules. As democrats we have entered into a supposed Political Debate board that has been pretty much the exclusive Domain of Republicans, and they are not at all happy about this development, so do not be surprised to see many of us who have been having such a rich and vibrant discussion of the real issues begin disappearing as Ivillage boots our accounts. Unfortunately, guilty or not, the reality is that some people are very well aware that they can silence your voice by merely alledging to Ivillage that you have been attacking which is against Ivillage policy.

So, if I am one of the voices silenced, just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed your well informed voice of reason in these threads.

I am thinking I may be striking some chords that are unwanted here myself. I just got a message that said "Was I addressing you?"

Reading some of the posts here today, I just had to join in. I think maybe the question shouldnt be what would we do if Bush wins but what will he do. Sounds like already he is setting up to invade Iran and put more of our soldiers in danger. I dont know about all of you but I am against this war, and any other invasions Bush may spring on us in the next 4 years. We live in a free country and I am proud to be voting against Bush in Nov.

Hello nisa77, new lady here to this board. I just have to jump in here...I really don't understand your post...can't handle another four years..well how do you suppose you are alive and free and able to "handle" anything in today's world? If not for President Bush and our men and women in uniform, we would not be doing as well as we are today. Who do you think has thwarted other attacks on our soil?? We have to get it right each and every time...the terrorists only once! I am thankful and very grateful for that each and every day. Where has our country and democracy gone? Our country and democracy is still very strong,I am middle class and my family and others I know are reaping the full benefits of tax cuts and thanks to the great job my husband has in manufacturing we are making more money now than we ever have...and the work is booming and growing steadily every day. President Bush trample our constitution!??? He has done everything in his power to protect and defend our democracy and constitution. Allies are and have been behind him completely...well except for maybe some that turned tail when the going got rough...and those who had huge amounts of money to lose from the ousting of Saddam. Democracy is a beautiful thing just as this country is...and is worth protecting at any cost. You can ask my son and his fellow soldiers that..he is part of 1st Armored Division...an Army division that made history for the largest division to be deployed the longest in combat. He spent 15 long months in Iraq..and would go back gladly wherever his Commander-in-Chief asked him to. Just not his sentiment..and his battery took the worst casualities...he lost good friends..and they all believe strongly in our President and fighting for our country and freedom and against terror anywhere they are asked to...to keep it off our soil!!! My son was given an armored vest..just a few days after arriving in Iraq over a year ago and it saved his life..he was shot twice and both times the vest stopped the bullet. I know what would have happened had he not received the vest...thank God he did.. and then I think about Kerry voting against money for the latest supplies our troops need. Then I think of John Edwards...I live in NC and most all the folks here do not like or support him...you see he has done nothing for NC...lots of talk...but no action. I will vote for President Bush and give him the respect he so richly deserves...he is our Commander-in-Chief and deserves no less from every citizen in the US. Thank God he was in office when the tragedy of 9-11 happened, you see I would have been very frightened if Gore was in office...by the way...our President was elected and Gore was a very sore loser and even tried to change Florida state law...his own party has distanced themselves from him..they were not going to let him speak at their convention...but alas did and he is still beating the same ole drum about the election stolen from him... Come to think of if you should be very frightened if President Bush is not re-elected...I will be...it will be just a matter of time before we are attacked again....terrorists want Kerry in..they know he will not be able to thwart them... Have a good day I know I will...Irisheyes

***I'll tell you what I am doing if you will tell me what is the point of your question? Are you trying to attack me personally?

Honestly, I don't know remember what I asked you. Can you post my question? Thanks.

>>how the economy works-tax increases=fewer jobs=shrinking tax base=LESS revenue, not more revenue. It's been proven time and time again.<<

Did Clinton give tax cuts? Did we have more jobs then? So your equation doesnot hold water..
