What will you do if Bush wins?

I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

*****Well, my only comment on the whole thing as regards to a Christian president....considering Bush claims to be a Christian, he sures seems bent on killing a whole lot of people....GEE, almost like the Crusades all over again.

You have no problem with people killing babies. How does that make you any better?

Thanks for reporting me. I am simply comparing the two killings.

I definietly agree with you about reading as much as you can and not just listening to what they say and promise. Sometimes promises can be broken, so I'm reading everything I can dealing with the election on both parties even though I'm so far supporting Kerry. I just don't want my vote to go towards someone who won't do their job in the House and cause things to go backwards. XOXO.

I'm a spiritualist but I do know quite a bit about wiccans and follow that along with other beliefs. I'm open to learning about any religion. XOXO.

Steph:

You believe in the positions of the rabid born again Christian Right when it comes to your views on the issue of abortion as is your right. What is NOT your right is to be confrontational about it. What is not your right, is to basically stalk me because you disagree vehemently with my views on the subject. If and when the subject of abortion comes up, I have no problems with you tossing your 1/4 cent worth into the conversation, and am a big boy here completely capable of defending my own beliefs and positions on the topic, but do find it offensive and somewhat interfering of my ability to enjoy my time here on line when you seem bent on throwing the topic into my face at every opportunity, so I would appreciate it immensely if we could simply agree to disagree, and leave the subject out of other topic areas.

As for your barb of reporting you...I might have mentioned your name here on the board, but unlike some here, I do not stoop to filing formal complaints and claiming foul.

What specific rights has President Bush taken away from women? I'm a woman and I haven't seen any of my rights disappear.

I didn't report your for anything either. And as I stated, killing is killing. Why can't I compare the two?

I wish I had time today to read each one of the responses to this just to see what everyone is thinking. I have made it part of my daily routine to see what information I can find out about each of the presidential candidates.

I watch ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CSPAN, and CNN news. I listen to how they present their information.

Are they "reporting" or are they "proclaiming"? I don't like an anchor trying to tell me what I should think. I watched the Democratic National Convention. I am watching the Republican National Convention. I want to hear it for myself. I don't want a news anchor to show a clip, a sentence or two, and then try to convince me that that is everything I need to know. Pathetic!

What they don't do is play the next part that shows more of the picture. They make big what THEY want to make big. I am insulted, as all of us should be, at the fact that Mainstream Media thinks I am foolish enough to take their word for anything that is going on in this country or any other country. And why on earth should I trust the French news or news from any other country? Believe it, they don't like you - because you are an American. You have freedoms they don't. You have a better life - no matter how bad you think it is - than they do.

Take a look at the freedoms you have. If you want to own a weapon to protect yourself, you can. If you want to write a letter to the editor and speak out against the government you can. If you want to march in a demonstration, burn the flag, you can (and who died so you have that little freedom?). Can you go to worship, say a prayer, preach the gospel?

Has George W. worked to prevent any more terrorist attacks against THIS COUNTRY, OUR PEOPLE - ALL OF US? More than any other President in this country, he has had to work diligently to keep a repeat of that horrible, horrible tradgedy of 9/ll happening again.

Do I feel that the "traditional family" is threatened? Yes. By the Bush administration? No.

Do I feel our childrens' future is scary? Yes. So was mine. So is mine. So was yours. So is yours. Did Bush start this spiral? No. In just 3 1/2 years? This has been going on forever. Can Bush make it better? Maybe. Can Kerry make it better? Well, based on his inability to stick to one story, I sure don't think he's the answer.

What will I do if Bush wins? Breath a sigh of relief.

Kara,

I'm with you about the whole abortion thing. I am pro-life, but it's just having the choice that is with me. If the mother and/or the baby would have serious problems during the pregnancy, etc. the mother should be allowed to make the choice. On Kerry's website they have a video up of when Mrs. Heinz Kerry was on 20/20 with Walters and she talks about how one time she almost had to make that choice and she was glad she at least had it there so she could still have her life. If a mother who already has young kids has a baby but there was serious problems and the mother could die if she kept going on with her life for her baby she could choose to either abort the baby and try again and stay with her family or choose to save the baby and end her life. I know that'd be a tough thing but just knowing you have the choice is what I'm for. Women have worked hard to have their rights and Bush is trying to play God and take these freedoms away. I'd rather have a clinic to go to and it be healthy and in a safe place instead of a mother doing it illegal and ending up going to jail or something like that or something else happening. XOXO.
