What will you do if Bush wins?

I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

Yes you are right plants need CO2 but as a scientist I am hear to talk to you about REAL science. The amount of CO2 being put in the atomsphere is very high due to loose regulations on air pollution. CO2 ends up in two areas in the world: 1) roots of plants and 2) the ocean. If you want to read scientific research on CO2 and plant roots, please look in a college library for any journal article written by Frank Day. He and his graduate students have been studying the effects of CO2 and roots for about 20 years now in Florida. His papers will give you REAL data. And air pollution not only deals with CO2, but the heavy metals and other toxic compounds emitted by unregulated factories.

As for Bush and his environmental policies...He has none. One example is who he picked for his Environmental Protection Agency director. EPA has cut funding for programs that monitor the health of rivers and estuaries in the US. Believe me, my lab's main purpose is to monitor the health of the Chesapeake Bay. We look at factors such as how much nitrogen (ie fertilizers) and phosphate (chicken poop) are found in the sediment. These compounds are important for the photosynthetic organisms (such as seaweed and algae) but too much can paralyze a river. It's very similar to a human eating his/her body weight every day. You need the food for survival but too much food can kill you as well.

Another example of Bush's policies may help most relate. Most people love dolphins. They are intelligent and very playful. They remind us of pets. Well Bush wanted to the loosen regulations for tuna fishermen and their nets. Fortunately Congress did not agree with this change.

It is not arrogant to believe that humans can (and do) a lot of damage to this world even if we are here for a very short time period. It is irresponsible to think the opposite, for we only have one planet to inhabit.

***Why are you so afraid to answer any and all direct questions put to you that would actually force you to examine your own conclusions and moral convictions?

Take some time and re-read all of my posts to you with questions you have never answered. Frustrating isn't it?

I answered your questions and then asked some of my own...instead of answering them, you would rant about murder...that is not having an intellectual debate.

Where do you stand with abortion? Just curious?

I am pro-choice (not pro-abortion as many people assume pro-choice people are). I believe that everyone has the right to make informed decisions based upon whatever they believe.

I will say it again, go back and re-read all of my posts to you and see all of the QUESTIONS I have asked you that you have not answered. You have replied to most of my posts with "stuff" I didn't ask for, but I have asked you MANY questions to which I did not receive any answers. And another poster has also said the same about you.

And if you actually read my response, I said, "I am pro-choice (not pro-abortion as many pro-life people like to believe)." And if you kept reading I state, "I believe it is the right of the person to make an informed decision." So don't argue semantics with me. Many people do not believe you are a human until you are born. It is a very gray area with no clear answer. But I believe MOST humans are intelligent enough to read information and decide what choices to make.
