What will you do if Bush wins?

I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

A baby unborn is not a baby. Ask a doctor. An unborn fetus cannot live outside its mother until the later stages of pregnancy and some not even then. A baby has no past experiences, it does not have personhood yet. A woman does.

Being pregnant doesn't make you a mother, you are just a host

Dear Bev....though your question was not addressed to me, would like to give you a couple of thoughts to ponder on. Many times, one has to look carefully to notice the small little erosions that are true signs of a mudslide about to begin. Such is the case in regard to an erosion of Women's Rights under Bush.

First, women for many years now have been making great strides forward in the work place, especially in regards to equality of pay. Not saying there is not a long way to go, but in the three years of the Bush Administration, instead of women gaining ground in this important area, they have lost ground. When he came into office, women earned almost 78 cents to every dollar a man earned....as I said, still a LOT of room for improvement. Yet, today a woman in America doing the same job as a man is earning only 76 cents to every dollar a man earns.

Secondly, Bush has made it abundantly clear what his stand is on abortion...in the next four years, the sitting president will get to name two possibly three new Judges to life time terms on the Supreme Court. Right now, the split on the court is almost right down the middle, but that will change dramatically in this next four year cycle, and it is a commonly held belief that Bush will be naming to the bench two of three ultra conservative right wing judges to this our highest court. Roe vs Wade will be the least of womens worry in regards to equal rights if this occurs.

I have far better things to do with my day then running around relocating links every time some slow Republican cannot seem to get their search engine running properly...To prove that my facts are reported on the major networks as I state, I yesterday posted a link to one of the specific stories that I had referenced. Now, if you or anyone else here thinks I'm going to run off and do others homework for them on the various assorted nuances involved in these threads every time they cannot find something I reference, you would be sadly mistaken.

Suppose the next thing we'll see is George Bush popping in here to ask me if I can help him find those Weapons of Mass Destruction he's been looking for now for a couple of years.

<<"I have far better things to do with my day then running around relocating links every time some slow Republican cannot seem to get their search engine running properly...">>.....lame cop-out if I ever saw one.

<<"To prove that my facts are reported on the major networks as I state">>.... those major networks have no report on your "facts" in your post I refered to.

<<"I yesterday posted a link to one of the specific stories that I had referenced">>....which had nothing to do with me, as I didn't ask for that one....I am DJIE.....not Renee.

<<"if you or anyone else here thinks I'm going to run off and do others homework for them on the various assorted nuances involved in these threads every time they cannot find something I reference, you would be sadly mistaken.">>......It is YOUR homework. But OK......you refuse to

If he is president 4 more years you will see new supreme court justices appointed for LIFE who are against a woman's right to choose, against gay marriage, for prayer in schools and funding religious education (all supposed to be separate from the "state"), against against against! This is probably the MOST scary thing to look forward to in Bush gets 4 more years, the move backwards about 60 years. Count on it.

<<"well aware that almost everyone of your posts on these boards is continously demanding of a poster to put up their links, to put up proof..">>....see here you go again. Goes to show that you must not have read my posts. I hardly éver ask (let alone demand) for the link upon which the poster bases his/her opinion. With that link I can read and understand poster's stance better, and move on to some depth in an exchange. You know.....it happens!

<<"I am a great supporter of people bettering themselves, learning new skills.">>....AH, but

"A baby unborn is not a baby. Ask a doctor. An unborn fetus cannot live outside its mother until the later stages of pregnancy and some not even then. A baby has no past experiences, it does not have personhood yet. A woman does."

I would dare you to go ask several Dr's. I'm sure you would get different answers, and not only between those with a pro-religion stance and an anti-one. I one believed this too, until I started saving the lives of children born before term. When 23 week baby can survive outside the womb, albeit with assistance, they most certainly are a baby. A human life. They cry, they eat, they suck their fingers, they pee and poop, they have a heart beat and they try like heck to breath on their own. They calm to touch, their parents voice, and to music. They like to cuddle on a warm chest and listen to your heart beat. They don't like bright lights, pain, and loud noises like the monitors they are hooked up to that monitors their VITAL signs. The signs of life. Keep telling your self that, they aren't a baby. They are developing and growing just as a 1 year old developes and grows to a 5 year old to a teen to a young man or woman and the cycle continues. I've seen those non-people you talk about be born and grow up, to go to school, to have friends, to hug their mom's and dad's to have relationships. If they aren't a baby, then what exactly are they? They don't just appear at 37 weeks gestation.

I have no fantasy that you will ever change your mind, but hopefully you are intellectually honest enough that you, and others, will try to see this from another point of view. Not the conservative point of view, not the Christian point of view, but from a babies point of view that is about to have his or her life abruptly ended. Can you imagine having killed one of your babies at 1 week of age? How is that different that killing a baby at 32 weeks gestation?
