I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

Donna, please, please take a moment and explain how you can rationalize your statements that unborn children have no thoughts or feelings yet you're telling us to elect John Edwards, who has made a career (and millions of dollars) channelling the thoughts of unborn children in the courtroom????

No, that was not some "Edward" guy who's a medium. It's John Edwards, the man you want to be our vice-president.

Please explain this huge inconsistency in your political stance.

Thanks.

I don't know, I just don't depend on government taking care of me when I'm older and we have all known about that for years. This is not a new thing about Social Security having problems.

Yes, the older population today are great people and were the greatest generation. I think we all have to get together as families and take care of our elderly. Not depend on Social Security or any social programs. I love my parents and in-laws and if they were struggling financially I would rather take them in.

That's great that you help them out as much as you can. I think one problem with Social Security is that there are going to become more people drawing out than are putting into it. And it's not like it's a savings plan. We pay social security taxes towards the program but there is only so far that money can go when there are more taking out than contributing.

My parents at 82 were not rich financially themselves either. But they had certain concepts they followed and certain things they taught us too. I'm hoping we do as well as they have done with saving. I'm sure they made very low salaries in the 80's too but the cost of living was also different than it is today.

If you are Pro Choice you are saying everything possible to make yourself look otherwise. I see no point in furthering this discussion since neither of us will be changing our minds and I have already stated my views on this as have you. If what I said makes no sense to you and is not obvious then I'm sure more discussion on it will not further that end.

And in case you hadn't noticed, millions of people believe that abortion IS "killing someone."

You are entitled to your beliefs as am I. What you are not entitled to is to force your beliefs on me or anyone else. Nor am I to you. That is why we have "choice."

So does that mean your stand on being Pro-Choice means you shouldn't try to do everything first before thinking of abortion?

I have answered this already. It makes no difference to me if true but I don't believe your take on it

As I have stated on these boards before being Pro Choice does not mean I am Pro Abortion. Not at all. It should always be the last choice, not the first. I believe in taking responsibility for all your actions including and especially sexually. There really is no reason today why anyone should get pregnant unless they want to be. But we all know that it happens every day and will continue to. Every child should be wanted is my belief and hope. That too is not how the world is, unfortunately for us all.

Read your own stuff. I will agree that each and every pregnancy and/or abortion is individual.
