I would like to know what you all will do if Bush wins? I don't know if I can handle another 4 years. Any ideas of how to reclaim our country and restore democracy and freedom? I'm worried that another 4 years will increase the authoritariansm and absolute power that Bush has come to claim and further trample on our constitution and individual liberties. I'm truly frightened.

You ask, "What will you do if Bush wins?" I will be relieved. Relieved to know that we had enough sense to re-elect a man who maintains his convictions regardless of all the criticism and loss of support its getting him. People go on and on about the war and the WMD, ok, so we didnt find a huge warehouse filled with them, but Hussein was a threat nonetheless, to the US and to the rest of the world. To me, the atrocities he inflicted on his own people are enough to justify Sadddam's removal. Yeah, I know some responses to that will be that we are sacrificing our own soldiers, but that is what soldiers do, they join the military knowing that there is always a risk of war. That is the purpose of the military, to fight. I have/had 6 relatives over in Iraq and a family friend (who was part of the team that captured Uday and Qusay) and not a single one of them complains about what he has/is done/doing over there, they do not regret joining the service. Just reading about the horrible things that Saddam's regime did sickens me to the core,I simply don't understand how a human beings could be so cold, heartless, and evil. I am proud to know that the country I am a citizen of has helped put an end to that. This all reminds me of the halocaust, every time I read about it and worst even when I see pictures of the mass graves, gas chambers, and the victims, I wonder in shame, WHY? Why did the US not get involved sooner, why didnt they come to the aid of all the people who died such horrible deaths? The US likes to carry itself with an air of superiority, we tend to think, we are right, we are the most moral, we are the most giving, etc., if that really is the case, then why is everyone SO upset about us helping people who need help. Also, I am sick of people blaming the Bush administration for the 9/11 tradgedy. Honestly, people you really thing that Bush or anyone in his administration could have stopped it. Those attacks tooks years of planning, it just so happened that Bush was in

office when it happened. Even Clinton had been advised of possible threats but nothing could be pinpointed and he could not have stopped it either. I think the fact that there have not been anymore attacks, people who are possible threats, and plots of attack have been discovered and efforts of prevention have been taken show that President Bush is doing his job. And honestly, how can people say that President Bush is a less than intelligent person, he was educated at the best schools in the country, not everyone can attend and graduate from Yale and Harvard.

One more thing, I read a post that named and criticized specific Republicans as though the Democrats are pillars of morality with perfect records. Let's not forget what Clinton did. He desecrated the Oval Office and the Presidency as an institution. That is still a cause for shame.

You are so right. I cannot imaginw what these Bush people are reading and thinking. Are their eyes and ears open? Do they really want to go start a pre-emptive war over lies, have the largest deficit in the history of the country, have our freedoms taken in the form of the "Patriot Act?"

I encourage Republicans and Bush fans to read this:

Haley:

A sigh of relief?

1. 800,000 more kids living in Poverty in just this paat year of Bush's administration.

2. Over 5 million more Americans without health coverage during Bush years, most of those women and children.

3. Increase of 4.5 million Americans who have slipped into poverty during his presidency.

4. More than one US soldier dead for every day Bush has been in office.

5. Gasoline prices have doubled in his four years in office on a supposed shortage of oil, and yet Exxon (which his family is highly vested in) last quarter reported a RECORD SETTING rise in profits for the quarter of 39 percent.

6. Bush lied to get us into a war that is not "Mission Accomplished", and we have all but lost said war when you look at the fact that this week a Cleric was the only one who could bring peace to the area, and the man responsible for killing hundreds of our troops was given a full pardon.

7. Under the quise of National Security, the Patriot Act has abridged many of our rights.

8. If Bush gets four more years and is able to name two new judges to the Supreme Court, you will see LOTS OF OUR RIGHTS ABRIDGED, including a womens right to freedom of choice where her body is concerned.

9. Bush has raped the environment, rolling back 100's of protections by waving various statutes ment to reign in big business pollution.

10. The huge deficit created by his administration was alarming enough that Greenspan today said our (baby boomers) retirement is in serious trouble, and has suggested the retirement age be moved back yet again to 67 from 65, that was 63, and before that 61. Now, seems to me that having paid into the system now for some 30 years, that we should not be having to worry about this....after all, if I take the 5,000 a year I put into the system, and the matching 5,000 a year contributed by the company I work for, do the math, and if the government had invested my money wisely, I should be able to live like a king in retirement, but instead have Greenspan urging Congress to make me work even longer before I can touch what should be MY MONEY.

The list could go on, but think you get the idea....we as a nation truly CANNOT afford Bush for another four years if we expect the middle class to survive.

If I were you, would not count on Bush winning...his ball of string is rapidly unwinding. The prisoner abuse scandel...two reports this week basically lay the blame right at the Defense Secretary Donald Dumfeld's feet, and he should resign. This evening the FBI has announced that a spy with direct access to high level officials in the Defense Department was passing secrets to Israel that might have shaped in a negative way our stand in regards to both Iraq and Iran, thus clouding the waters, and through false information contributing towards leading us into a war that as ill advised at best.

Economy....it's only been good for those at the top end of the spectrum in America, while the middle-class has and continues to pay far to high of a price.

The Swift Boat propaganda has all but run its course, and if the early signs this week here in NY are any sign, the Republican Convention is going to be anything but peaceful.

Anyone bother to look at the Republican Party Platform for the convention in regards to the section on family. Forget the gay marriage issue, they go so far as to say that gays should not even have protected rights.

Environment has been dealt a serious blow, not to mention Bush's attempt to bypass all public involvement in trying to site a radioactive waste disposal facility in Yucca Mountain out in Nevada....do hope the people of that state can think that far back. What about Ohio...surely all they have to do is look at the 2 million lost jobs in their state to know they cannot afford four more years of Bush, and the same in Pa. Right now because of the Hurricane Bush is barely holding a lead there, and to attempt to buy the state, he is pushing congress to authorize another 2 billion just in time for the election in November...but A) don't count on it, and B) the hurricane will be forgotten, governmental help will be slow in coming, and people will suddenly see Bush for what he really is.

No, be really surprised here if Bush gets re-elected, as he gets a failing grade in every area.

I am surprised to see so many people supporting president bush here. I have had many conversations with countless people and only 1 person I have spoke with supported bush.

I have a family of four, and I have not seen any difference in my taxes. Bush's tax cuts for the rich have taken many programs away from the poor. If I were rich I would gladly pay more taxes to help out other people in need. People who are rich have alot more advantages, if God saw fit to bless me in this way I would consider it my duty to help others. The top 10 percent of the richest people own 90 percent of the wealth, so spread it around some!

As for insurance, doctors make mistakes like everyone else and should be held accountable for them. If you or I make a mistake on the job, we get reprimanded. The difference is, that when a doctor makes a mistake, it's life threatening or life altering. Doctors make way too much money anyway. My brother-in-law used to be in construction, he built houses for doctors, he used to joke that their living rooms were so big you could land an airplane in them.

Bush is an oil man from Texas with lots of friends. Just look at the prices at the gas pumps. These gas prices effect almost everything. When you go to the grocery store you have to pay more money for your food because it cost more to get it there. This is just one example of how Bush is taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich.

If you really think your safer now, then you must be missing the news. DH saw a news clip this evening about a woman who bought candy for her son in Miami, on of the pieces of candy was in the shape of the twin towers with a plane going through it, and a number on the package was 9011. This should be a wake up call for all of us. Terrorists could be poisoning our children!!!!!

Bush is out of touch with the people. The other day I saw a clip of him giving a speech, and he had to check with someone to see if he was saying 24/7 right. Then proceeded to try to explain to his audience what this meant. Bush must be the only person who doesn't know what this means. How did he get to where he is today, I just don't get it.

Bush gives tax breaks to companies for outsourcing jobs. This is a tremendus injustice to the american people. Many jobs may in fact have been created, but what we don't take into account is the fact that more jobs are being lost then created every day, and that only sets this country further behind. This is also one of the issues John Kerry wants to correct, by taking away the tax breaks to these outsourcing companies we can keep more jobs at home where they belong.

I have never voted before because I didn't trust any of the candidates, but I am so furious over the way this country is currently being run that I actually registered to vote. I don't think we can survive another 4 years with Bush, (not the country but many of the american people). If Bush does win this next election, I will know that they played around with peoples votes.

Go John Kerry!!!

She's:

Some facts:

Small Businesses create for the most part jobs that pay barely above minimum wage, usually do not have benefits, and have little room for upward advancement. That is a fact. Now, the manufacturing jobs we have lost to off shore were good paying jobs that are being replaced with jobs at much lower pay scales, and national statistics show that in four years of Bush, the nation as a whole has a NET LOSE of 1.5 million jobs.

Health care...you alledge that eliminating these lawsuits would keep costs down, and that simply is not true. I would be willing (more than willing) to support such legislation, if as part of it, doctors lost the right to police themselves, and could be held criminally liable. Do you realize that a doctor has to have a PATTERN of abuse before his peers will take action against him/her? Take the man of 65 who earlier this year went into a hospital to have his gall bladder out, and woke up castrated because the surgical papers got switched. Tell me, just what is the pain and humiliation he is suffering through as a eunuch worth, what is the lose of sexual intimacy to him and his wife worth? Since the doctor currently cannot be held criminally liable, just how do you propose to compensate this family if we eliminate accountablity through legal action in a civil trial?

Bush's plan for social security....did you hear Greenspan today? Also, do not suppose you have read the Senate Sub-Committe testimony on solving Social Security have you? Let me tell you the heart of Bush's own your own retirement scam....to make the system solvent, they need to SKIP a generation of beneficiaries....so, Bush odds on favorite plan is this...take those between the ages of 30-55, and give us back everything we paid into the system (only what we personally have paid in, not what our bosses contributed in matching funds, which also belongs to us as a part of our pay.) with no interest, and then we will be expected to fend for ourselves. So, I'm almost 50, and if this were to become law, the administration wants to give me back everything I have paid into the system for almost 33 years with NO INTEREST on my money for said period of time, and then tell me to fend for myself.....Bush plan might be great one or two generations down the line, but for those of us that may be asked to pay the ultimate price, you had best look REAL CLOSE at Bush's plan.

I pray to God Bush does not get re-elected.
