Bush and McCain

I have heard from some reliable Republican sources that Bush will announce McCain as his VP at the
Republican convention.
Republican convention.
It makes some sense. McCain has been campaigning with Bush the past few weeks. McCain stated that he
thought Bush should repudiate the Swift Boat ads and Bush finally did.
Any thoughts?

I can't begin to imagine that will happen, but it sure would be interesting.

There have been rumors of President Bush picking a new VP floating around for months now....don't know if this one is any more credible than any other. I can't imagine him picking McCain anyway. But it would be interesting....

That's been a rumor for a long time. No, President Bush is not going to replace VP Cheney. President Bush loves Cheney not only as his VP but as his dear friend, and Bush would never ask Cheney to step down. The only way Cheney would be replaced is if Cheney himself stepped down, and that's not going to happen. Cheney is a great VP and would be a great president if he had to be. And keep in mind that a lot of conservative Republicans really do NOT like McCain. If Cheney was replaced with McCain, the right-wing conservative base Bush has would be FURIOUS!
