Everyone I know (Republican, Democrat & Independent) thinks that the anti-Kerry smear campaign on his Vietnam War record began at the White House. Not a person, I know, believes the administration denials.

Does that matter? I think it does!

<<"So which is it? Did his leadership make any difference? If yes, then the sooner the better.
If no, then you have to admit he is a figurehead.">>.....I honestly do not understand what you are getting at? Are you now saying that Bush should have acted in minus 7 minutes? Seriously though, I do not think that these 7 minutes (in the situation at the time!) makes him a better or worse leader.

I'm pretty sure that after the first plane hit the WTC, procedures were underway and there was no indication of a second plane (let alone plane 3 and 4) when he decided to enter the classroom. As it happened, plane 2 hit the WTC, Bush was told as much, and it took him ONLY 7 minutes to digest the horrifics (with kids at his feet to consider) and act.

IMO he acted admirably and so did most of the world. Did you hear ányone even méntion those 7 minutes before MM's yuckumentary?

Well no, no one mentioned it before MM, but that's because the regular news media gave Bush a pass on it. It took someone not tied to corporate interests to speak the truth.

We have different definitions of what smearing the president would be. IMO tracing the origins of a smear doesn’t constitute a smear.

IMO an actual smear against the president was post # 3742.1

The news media should report, period. I don't want the news media deciding for me, I'll make my own decisions after I hear the news. But we don't get a full picture from CORPORATE OWNED news media that have their own interests at heart first.

< Did the reg. news media give Bush "a pass on it", or did they believe that those 7 minutes did nót have any significant "impact" in the course of the events of 9/11? All we know now, is that they didn't think it was crucial in ány way (or they would have mentioned it, sómewhere, sómehow!).>
