I love these pieces written by Charlie Daniels.

America The Horrible

You know I think that there are people who sit around all day and think up ways of blaming everything in the world on the United States of America.

It gets to the point of being silly. There is a conspiracy theory about just about everything you can think of.

Remember the Elvis sightings?

If I really thought that the U.S.A. was guilty of all the things it gets accused of by some of its own citizens, I would pack up and find me some other place to live.

In fact, since some of these people are so convinced that America is the evil monster they claim it to be, I can’t understand why they don’t do just that.

After all, according to them, the system is beyond repair and the

mischief has been going on so long and it is so firmly ingrained in American policy that all hope is gone.

America is a monolithic, evil, greedy, heartless, monopolistic,

uncaring, devious, crooked, irredeemable, domineering, thieving,

throat cutting, disloyal, arrogant, gluttonous, power seeking,

back stabbing, callous, cold hearted, rotten, misguided, non compassionate, murdering, land grabbing, bloodthirsty,

dishonest, mindless, lying, cheating, truth suppressing,

claimjumping, backshooting, ozone depleting, snail darter killing, spotted owl destroying, slime slobbering monster which

has only survived two hundred and twenty eight years and become the world’s only super power by sheer luck and treating the rest of the world like inferiors.

Oh save us John Kerry, get us all visas so we can move to France and champion the causes of the exploding Muslim population there and leave behind this despicable place called the United States of America.

I’ve got an idea, let’s take this whole thing to the United Nations, they can pass a resolution.

Why is it so important to some people to paint the greatest nation the world has ever known as being responsible for so much of the world’s woes?

I personally think that some of them spend way too much time on the internet. You can find just about anything you want to on the World Wide Web. You can always find somebody to agree with you.

But don’t count me among them, I am American, red white and blue

through and through, American born, American bred and when I die I’ll be American dead.

I don’t have a problem with people who want to change this country, that’s their right, but wanting to tear it down and blame all the blood that was shed by innocent people on 9-11 on America or any American is way beyond the pale.

Are you listening Michael Moore?

You can and should leave America if you feel so inclined but as for me, I’ll take the United States of America and when I have to leave it I want to go to Heaven. It’s the only better place I know of.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?

God Bless America

"America The Horrible

You know I think that there are people who sit around all day and think up ways of blaming everything in the world on the United States of America. "

Well, they sure do. They spent the 90s accusing the twice elected president of the United States of everything from murdering over 50 people to running drugs as governor of Arkansas to murdering Vincent Foster to bombing the Murrah building in Oklahoma.

"It gets to the point of being silly. There is a conspiracy theory about just about everything you can think of."

Yep. Like all the BS about the government shooting down TWA Flight 800.

"Remember the Elvis sightings?"

Uhh-what do they have to do with anything?

"If I really thought that the U.S.A. was guilty of all the things it gets accused of by some of its own citizens, I would pack up and find me some other place to live."

Based on what you've written so far you would leave the country better off if you did. Might I suggest that Libertarian paradise Somalia, where there is no government and whoever has the biggest gun wins? You know, the right wing dream for America.

"In fact, since some of these people are so convinced that America is the evil monster they claim it to be, I can’t understand why they don’t do just that."

As of yet, all hyperbole and no examples of this. It's called the Straw Man argument, attribute an argument to your opponent and argue with yourself.

"After all, according to them, the system is beyond repair and the

mischief has been going on so long and it is so firmly ingrained in American policy that all hope is gone."

Last I checked there are a number of candidates volunteering to clean up Bush's mess, hardly the mark of those viewing "hopelessness". So this is another Straw Man.

"America is a monolithic, evil, greedy, heartless, monopolistic,

uncaring, devious, crooked, irredeemable, domineering, thieving,

throat cutting, disloyal, arrogant, gluttonous, power seeking,

back stabbing, callous, cold hearted, rotten, misguided, non compassionate, murdering, land grabbing, bloodthirsty,

dishonest, mindless, lying, cheating, truth suppressing,

claimjumping, backshooting, ozone depleting, snail darter killing, spotted owl destroying, slime slobbering monster which

has only survived two hundred and twenty eight years and become the world’s only super power by sheer luck and treating the rest of the world like inferiors."

Got any examples of anyone claiming this? Oh yeah, this is the Charlie Daniels Straw Man construction company.

"Oh save us John Kerry, get us all visas so we can move to France and champion the causes of the exploding Muslim population there and leave behind this despicable place called the United States of America."

Ahh-so now the Straw Man encompasses Kerry. No wonder Daniels has been a washed up has been "musician" for years.

"I’ve got an idea, let’s take this whole thing to the United Nations, they can pass a resolution."

Then maybe we can invade another Middle East country, right? George Bush is the guy who squanders American troops in "support of UN resolutions", remember? And now he's looking for more UN Resolutions to bail him out. Are you too stupid to follow what is REALLY going on, there, Charlie Boy, or are you just looking for more Straw Men to tilt against?

"Why is it so important to some people to paint the greatest nation the world has ever known as being responsible for so much of the world’s woes?"

Why, to give washed up musicians a soap box, of course.

"I personally think that some of them spend way too much time on the internet. You can find just about anything you want to on the World Wide Web. You can always find somebody to agree with you."

Do a Google on "Clinton Body Count" and see what you get. And by the way, wasn't this piece sent out on the internet? Double Standards while you wait.....

"But don’t count me among them, I am American, red white and blue

through and through, American born, American bred and when I die I’ll be American dead."

Don't keep us waiting too long, y'all.

"I don’t have a problem with people who want to change this country, that’s their right, but wanting to tear it down and blame all the blood that was shed by innocent people on 9-11 on America or any American is way beyond the pale."

Sure you do, you have an enormous problem with anyone who isn't as brain dead as you are. You just spent this whole piece damning anyone whose vision of the country doesn't support yours. Kerry is getting us all visas to France, remember?

"Are you listening Michael Moore? "

I'm sure Moore hangs on every word that Charlie Daniels utters.

"You can and should leave America if you feel so inclined but as for me, I’ll take the United States of America and when I have to leave it I want to go to Heaven. It’s the only better place I know of."

I'm sure your slander of those you disagree with is immensly pleasing to Jesus and He has a special place reserved in Heaven for you based on it.

"Pray for our troops.

What do you think?

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels "

I say support our troops in the finest way possible. Defeat George Bush.

How utterly charming that you would hope a fellow human being wouldn't keep you waiting to die because his political pov differs from yours. And the *y'all* was such a nice stereotypical touch.

Since you are from redneck country, I've been wanting to ask someone there a question.

Since the blue state pay more federal taxes than what they receive back from federal benefits and the excess goes to red states, do you or any other citizens of your state feel any shame in belonging to a group that is, essentially, a charity case for liberals?

Just wondering.

What's interesting, too, is how many of them are using the residual benefits of one of the largest government programs of it's time, the TVA and rural electification, to complain about the government.

Y'know, as a resident of upstate NY, I've often wondered if folks in NYC feel the slightest twinge of shame over sucking so much of OUR tax $$ into their every-needy black hole.

Come to think of it, most blue states are only blue because they have one really large needy urban center that couldn't survive without the tax and spend welfare-type policies of the dems.
