Did anyone catch Kerry on Jon Stewart's show last night? It'll be on again tonight at 7. Just wondering what everyone thought.

I thought he was pretty good. Looked good, showed a sense of humor, kind of joking around. Not 100% smooth, as there were interruptions back and forth but certainly not scripted either. No hard hitting questions but a glimpse at the man behind the image kind of thing.

BTW - Is it true Bush is considered a good debater or was Kerry setting Bush up?

NO..Bush is not a good debater. In 2000, the press set it up so that if Bush could say a complete sentence he did more than they expected him to do. Whereas, the bar was set pretty high for Gore. They were saying what a great debater he was. Anyway, Gore came in and was like sighing in one debate, then acted like he was going to attack Bush and then had more make-up on than he has ever had on. It was a disaster. I don't know who his advisors were..Anyway,Gore lost that debate on his own. Bush did not do anything extraodinary to win. I can't really comment on his governor debate because I do not live in Texas (thank goodness!). ANYWAY, the press is trying to set the bar REALLY high for Kerry becuase they want to see him implode as Gore did in 2000. HOWEVER, Kerry is on to them and he is trying to make it so that not much is expected of him either. In addition, Kerry has learned from Gore's mistakes and you can betcha he won't repeat them. Also, Bush is going to have to do more than his one-liners. He is no longer a challenger. He is the commander-in-chief so they expect more from him...

Oh and to answer your question. I think Kerry did GREAT on the "The Daily Show". I like seeing that side of him. Like he has said, he can joke around and have fun just like the next guy. However, there are times when you need to be serious.

Bush did beat Gore in two of the three debates because people believed that he was being genuine, not contrived like Al Gore. Kerry may have the same problem, especially with all of the credibility issues he is facing.

The press didnt set anything up for Bush to win, as if you review the papers at the time, most of them were slanted towards Gore, so why would they submarine their own choice for the President? Your statement holds no water.
