Bush ahead in LA Times Poll

I find this quite revealing since this Poll has been showing Kerry with a several point lead and this comes from the hotbed of Liberalism.
Los Angeles Times Poll. Aug. 21-24, 2004. N=1,352 registered voters nationwide.
"If the November general election for president were being held today and the choices were George W. Bush and Dick Cheney on the Republican ticket, and John Kerry and John Edwards on the Democratic ticket, for whom would you vote: Bush/Cheney or Kerry/Edwards?"
8/21-24/04 Bush/Cheney= 49 Kerry/Edwards= 46 Unsure= 5
7/17-21/04 Bush/Cheney= 46 Kerry/Edwards= 48 Unsure= 6

I bet this poll jumps again at least another two or three times before all is said and done. Look at the Gallup poll. That one looks like Kerry and Bush are on a seesaw in the playground.
The polling that is done has way too many factors to be fully accurate.
1) Where are the polls being conducted, are they mainly a democratic area, or a republican area.
2) What kind of questions are asked of the people to determine how they will vote.
3) How large is ths polling sample
I think you get the point.
