I read your post (or should I say article!) on Bush's half-truths and non-truths, it was very interesting. A couple of thoughts:
How can you have a war on terror? It's not a country. It's not a race, nor a gender. It's a feeling!!! 9/11 was horribly wrong, but it was far from unprecedented. Here in the UK, we've been dealing with terrorism for a very long time, specifically from the IRA and other groups like it. But we didn't go and bomb the sh*t out of Australia because they had tenuous links to Ireland! This is not to say that we should be lenient on terrorists. But the vast majority of Iraqis who are now dead were not terrorists. If the minds behind 9/11 could be found, I'd gleefully pull the trigger myself, but why are we killing people with no connection whatsoever to that atrocity?
The idea of Bush and Blair sitting together praying gives me shivers. Separation of Church and State, people! Isn't that what your Constitution says?
Both of them have been proved to be liars, and to have taken our countries and our young men and women into war on completely fabricated grounds. I confess, I'm glad the Taliban are no longer in power in Afghanistan, but it's the height of idiocy to believe that we went into Iraq for any other primary reason than OIL!

Ya'll over there can thank us later for the sacrifices we are making to eliminate terror. Hey, they bullied Spain into submission, they are working on France, who's next to roll over to terrorism in Europe?
Your post was excellent, very well thought out and such a breath of fresh air to have a new voice that is not clouded by American political propaganda.

Yes that is exactly how it is supposed to be here and it also makes me shudder as well.

which is beside the point as Iraq has no proven links to Al Qaeda anyway. As I said, anything that's actually against TERRORISM is fine. but if a country is allowed to fly in the face of the UN and the rest of the world, surely that can only lead to trouble.
as for the oil, look in any atlas and find the page on Natural Resources. I'm sure you'll see what I mean.
cheers

I've visited England...a delightful people. Stationed my self in Forrest Hill and traveled extensively thoughout the country for three months a few years back. You are a very bright young woman with well thought out and composed ideas on this situation.
In America, we were UNITED in going after the Taliban, and tracking down the terrorists in Afghanistan, and the world was united with us. However, when Bush began whispering that he was going to take on Saddam that unification rapidly began to dissappear. The reports that are coming out (Such as the 911 Commission Report) state that there is no CREDITABLE connection between Osama Bin Ladin and Iraq as we all now know had/has no weapons of Mass Destruction. Fact of the matter is, that Congress, the Senate and the people of the United States of America would NEVER have approved of or condoned a war against Iraq if Bush and his swagger had gone on National TV and said something to the effect of " You know, I just don't link the man (patented wink)and I think we ought to go over there and kick us some Iraqi Ass (bigger conspiratorial wink). So, what do you think, are you with me on this?"
The death count in American Soldiers alone is quickly approaching 1,000 and sure that you over there have your own numbers. Untold 1,000's of innocent Iraqi's have lost their lives as well, and the press on an almost daily basis it seems has a story about yet another individual or two or three being kidnapped. This war was a bad idea, and it needs to be ended, just as Vietnam needed to be ended so many years ago.
