From a 25 yr old Englishwoman

I read your post (or should I say article!) on Bush's half-truths and non-truths, it was very interesting. A couple of thoughts:

How can you have a war on terror? It's not a country. It's not a race, nor a gender. It's a feeling!!! 9/11 was horribly wrong, but it was far from unprecedented. Here in the UK, we've been dealing with terrorism for a very long time, specifically from the IRA and other groups like it. But we didn't go and bomb the sh*t out of Australia because they had tenuous links to Ireland! This is not to say that we should be lenient on terrorists. But the vast majority of Iraqis who are now dead were not terrorists. If the minds behind 9/11 could be found, I'd gleefully pull the trigger myself, but why are we killing people with no connection whatsoever to that atrocity?

The idea of Bush and Blair sitting together praying gives me shivers. Separation of Church and State, people! Isn't that what your Constitution says?

Both of them have been proved to be liars, and to have taken our countries and our young men and women into war on completely fabricated grounds. I confess, I'm glad the Taliban are no longer in power in Afghanistan, but it's the height of idiocy to believe that we went into Iraq for any other primary reason than OIL!

If you do not like the nature or tone of the thread, sure you are capable of simply ignoring it?

Ahhhh yes, but there are many who aspire to be the biggest bully on the playground.

Yes, but of course we ARE the biggest bully on the playground. We are the most powerful nation on earth and we are abusing that power for our own ends. Because we can.

Yes, the same people that brought you the attacks on McCain and calling him anything but a Patriotic American, the same folks that smeared Max Clellan (sp?) a three time aputee saying his service to country was less than admirable are now trying to tell you that Kerry is a traitor.

HELLO....any one else smell a skunk in the Republican woodpile?

You are correct in your analysis, but sadly, BUSH could care less what the rest of the world thinks of us...it's his ball, and he will make the rules, and if you do not like it, he'll take his ball and go home...scary.

what worries me is the question of who's next. Osama Bin Laden studied in Cambridge, for gods sake! if you look at it that way, England has links to Al'Qaieda too!

Actually, think we need to be careful in discounting China's potential to be the biggest bully on the block.

Hmmmm.....wondering if Bush might decide that amounts to harboring and providing aid to an enemy? Could be dangerous for England right now if you get rid of Blair, Bush might decide to take a swipe at you for that infraction.

Morning Nat:

Yes, scary indeed...he does not even try to hide the fact that he just does not care about what any one else, or any other nations think, his way or the highway, and he'll wipe out anyone and everyone that tries to stand in his way. His supposed coalition is slowly crumbling as many of our smaller allies cut and run at the first kidnapping of their citizens, and we find ourselves as a nation more and more isolated from the rest of the world when just three years ago we had the WHOLE WORLD on our side.

Meanwhile, everyone says Kerry has no plan...UHHHHHH.....I'd say his firm committment and promise to rebuild and re-establish dialoque with our allies around the world so that we do not have to go it alone is the BEST DAMN PLAN I have heard discussed since Bush started us down this path.

I have to question why you think I am a Nader supporter.
The first key to wisdom is constant and frequent questioning, for by doubting we are led to question and by questioning we arrive at the truth.  -
