Was with a bit of amusement that I saw the Republicans in here has a thread that we are supposed to stay out of (see Republican Treehouse)....guess they feel a need to have secret meetings, and might even have a secret handshake to get through the door, so thought those of us on the side of reason and intellect should have our own little hide-away as it were. So, kick your shoes off, pour yourself a drink and lets discuss the issues.

Hi There:

I have some ideas that I just sent over to the New York Democratic Office in hopes they may help with the campaign...for obvious reasons, am not going to post them here on this board. Working at the phone bank is a good thing...key is figuring out how to be more visible and better recieved in some of the battleground states like Ohio.

One thing I've noticed from watching a bit of the Republic convention is all they talk about is safety, peace and 9/11 events. Why don't they discuss other issues like jobs, women rights, education? At least Kerry is addressing these issues. One guy was on there speaking who was a democrat from Georgia and he was saying how he's for George Bush and attacking Kerry for stuff he voted "no" for and saying how he was happy to see George is the same man he is on Sunday morning for church as on a Saturday afternoon. My brother said he always thought the church and the state was always seperate and I agree. What if Bush wins and he makes them one? What will happen with other people who have their own beliefs and other religions out there? America isn't just a Christian country. There are lots of other beliefs too. I don't want to someday have my grandchildren feel like they can't have their own choice of religion and would have to be Christian. XOXO.

When exactly is the debate? Isn't it this month or next month? Can't remember. I can't wait to see that! I wish I could go to show my support for Kerry. XOXO.

I agree about the Bush twins. I was watching them speak earlier this week one night. My brother has noticed they say "like" a lot. I do too but not when I'm talking infront of people at public speaking. Weren't they supposed to take some sort of public speaking class? I'm a music major and have to take it! I don't know why but I'm glad and can't wait to take it next term. Even though I love to talk it'd be good to have some help with speaking infront of others. One wants to be a teacher: do you think she will be where she wants to be in 3-4 years with that? The other one wants to work with AIDS but Mrs. Bush never said exactly what. I was watching some of the MTV VMA's and they had the Kerry girls come on and talk to people about voting and got a few boo's and then the Bush girls popped up. Aren't Kerry's girls about the same age as the Bush twins? If they are the same age group the Kerry girls have better public speaking skills. I also haven't seen many young people at the Republic convention. Looking at photos of Kerry on the road he seems to connect with all age groups. Also, on the rep convention all the music guests have been country singers. I enjoy country and all but it'd be cool to see diversity at the convention. Like a rock band or an r&b singer. *shrug* On Kerry's site he has Bon Jon Jovi, my fav male band Blink-182 and even Moby. Rock on KERRY. XOXO.

Is he really? I read somewhere on the politic board that Kerry closed down this bank that the Bush family and Bin Laden were both banking at. XOXO.

It is good you are learning all you can. Let others know so they can make good decisions too. I think Kerry would answer your questions. I doubt if Bush could. But I heard talk of the debates. There are usually three between the two candidates and one between the two Vice Presidential candidates. The talk is Bush only wants two between he and Kerry. I can't blame him because he will get killed unless all questions are scripted. He cannot think on his feet and doesn't have a true understanding of the issues.

The Kerry girls are about 8-10 years older than the Bush girls I think.

LOL Donna on Bush speaking. Right. I just want to know all I can about the two guys and see who is the best one. There are two other guys running too, right? A friend of mine is for one of the guys. I forgot his name at the moment but are they going to have a debate too or just Bush and Kerry? XOXO.

Ah. I wasn't sure. I heard Bush tonight say his girls just got out of college. How long has Kerry's girls been out? What do they do? XOXO.
