Hello all you Bushonites:

One thing that seems to be abundantly clear to everyone, is without exception, all those who are planning to vote for Bush in the upcoming election believe without a doubt that he is the best man to lead us in this time of war, he is the one man that can keep us safe, and the borders of our country secure.

Now, living here in New York, I probably am keeping tabs on this Republican Convention more so than others and catching things as they unfold. This is George Bush's convention, his PEOPLE planned it, orchestrated, planned out and implemented security for the event. George Bush the man who has a plan to win the war on terror, the man who you all believe will keep us safe is the one who will in fact take all the credit (rightfully so) for this convention if all things go well.

So, here is my question...Bush is the man who will keep us safe, and protect our borders. If as you believe, this is so true, then can you explain to me how it is that he and his people cannot even properly secure and keep safe the Republican Convention Hall here in NYC? First a protestor successfully went through the Secret Service screenings, got approved to be a greeter, then worked his way through various check points approved by Bush and his staff, walked right past various Secret Service Agents and got within TEN FEET of Vice President Cheney to deliver personally and upclose his message of protest. Now today, not one, but a small army of protestors again managed to walk right through the security net approved by Bush, made their way through a host of Secret Service and other Security Personel, managed to get not just onto the floor of the Republican Convention, but clear up to the front of said Convention where they successfully managed to hold their protest up front and center stage as they successfully managed to interupt and halt President Bush's Whitehouse Chief of Staff in the middle of his speech!

Now seriously, is this the kind of situation one would expect from the man that you all seem so readily willing to entrust the safety of our nation to?

Mark, may I quote you? EXCELLENT point!

"Nor does it not mean that various individuals opposing Bush won't go to great lengths themselves to protest him and his policies... if that means lying or engaging in otherwise overtly deceptive tactics to get in, that's just *their* lack of honesty and integrity showing. "

if you go to the SwiftBoat Site you will see that not even Kerry can protect himself against himself. His die was cast in 1971.

Let's say it again, Mark.

"Are you now saying you want to see the same type of security arrangements and tactics used within the country against potential internal threats that are necessary and are used to protect against external threats? Doing so would only result in you and others screaming about more abuse of authority and violations of civil liberties by Bush & Co."

Well I am sorry that I want to be safe, and I think those people in New York would also like to be safe. I think they have been thru enough without the republicans going there and saying "Hey, try it again!", becaue by having the convention there that is exactly what they are doing. Do not think that terrorists are not constantly trying. They are just not going to be deterred in any way. The time will come they find the loophole and BOOM!!!! we are hit again.

There are all sorts of people inside the U.S. that would love nothing better but to hurt the President, besides people outside the country. Don't you hear about how someone has slipped thru airport security? It is still not secure and that is a problem. Like Bush, you seem content to pass the buck to someone else. Sorry, he is the leader of the U.S. and he is responsible for what happens in every aspect, just like leaders of other countries are being held responsible for what happens in their countries.

All it takes is just one person. Or perhaps you dont take it as a big deal, since the protestor came after Cheney and not Bush?

Your post is funny.

Do you realize how easy it is to be a volunteer on the floor of a convention? You fill out paperwork, and go for a quick interview, and have a quick background check.

Of course you are screened, but you dont get the same sort of scrutiny as someone who is going to get classified clearance.

It is just another thing that the anti-Bush people are trying to use as a weakness, as they are slowly running out of things to attack Bush on.

Sen. Zell Miller saw to that last night. I have seen the Democrats try to portray him as a crazed man, but I saw a man on the stage last night who is upset with the leadership of his party, as instead of trying to work together on things in Washington, they still harbor ill feelings about the election in 2000, and will stop at nothing to try to unseat Bush from the White House.

His remarks dealt a severe blow to the Democrats last night.

Bush can't think out of his own sock but can be made to look like he can.

He need to fight back with the true issues about Bush's failed presidency. He need to tell the real ugly truth. He doesn't need to lie as the Bush-wackers are, he only needs to fight back with the truth of how this administration has destroyed its image abroad, how it has ignored its own people and is interested only in promoting the interests of a few wealthy. Being nice is now how this election will be won.

Why at the Rep convention are they also just talking about the same stuff? I haven't heard them talk about anything with jobs, education, etc unless I just haven't seen parts where he does (I only watch about an hour of it). Just about 9/11 stuff and making blows to Kerry. I wanna know about what he wants to do about OUR country and how he's going to make MY home better. XOXO.

Because he has 4 years to do it and did not and still has no plan for any of it. The smear campaigns are working so they are doing more and more of it, even in their convention.
