ALL BUSH SUPPORTERS READ THIS

I blagged this from a War On Terror Ivillage board:

'In his memoirs, "A World Transformed," written five years ago, George Bush Sr. wrote the following to explain why he didn't go after Saddam Hussein at the end of the Gulf War.

"Trying to eliminate Saddam...would have incurred incalculable human

and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible.... We

would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq....

There was no viable "exit strategy" we could see, violating another of

our principles. Furthermore, we had been consciously trying to set a

pattern for handling aggression in the post-Cold War world. Going in

and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations'

mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response

to aggression that we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion

route, the United States could conceivably still be an occupying power

in a bitterly hostile land."

If only his son could read.'

Nobody had to "report" anything. CM Pat made it clear a long time ago that she was monitoring the threads here and that she would remove any post, threads and/or members that violated the TOS. So why are some folks so surprised that she followed through?

Hi Renee,

Sorry, to have saddened you, I don't recall saying negetive about you but I don't recall what all I posted. But what I meant in my post was both of you are strong posters and that is both of your style. I am completely aware that it is not in your hand to delete messages or ban a poster. I was more angry at ivillage for not being fair to mysticdreamer. That's all. In fact in one of my posts somewhere I did mention that I like reading both of your posts. Anyways, being the election/political junkie that I have become I may not be able to keep away from these boards. I will miss Mysticdreamers posts though. I think it was unfair, but if you didn't report him 3 times or so, I will take your word for it. I think we should stop reporting people and start ignoring them so that we don't curb any voices.JMHO.

I didn't want to be a drama queen, but I guess I needed a day or partial day off these debate boards which I made up by staying up late and watching political stuff on TV.LOL!

I also want to thank everyone for asking me to stay. It really meant a lot.

Isn't John Edward the medium and John Edwards the senator two different people? The senator's site is http://www.johnedwards.com while the medium's site is http://www.johnedward.net Also, notice on the end of the senator's last name there is an "s" and the medium's last name doesn't have an "s." Edwards the senator is from South Carolina while Edward the medium is from Long Island, NY. So they are two very different people and we're not voting for a medium. Edwards the senator was (and is he still?) a lawyer. XOXO.

Read the article and just wondering what does a lawyer's closing argument have to do with abortion?

I love it when you answer! You just make so much sense!

In terms of the election I just want to quote a VERY REPUBLICAN and yet very intelligent talk-radio host in Denver who said that the Electoral college is today irrelavent and due to the configuration of the electoral college it is possible that the electoral vote could completely misconstrue what American voters want, which, he also said, was exactly what happened in the last election. His name is Bob Newman and he is so right-winged, it is scary. Coming from the mouth directly?

Additionally, I think the terrorist feel even more justified in attacking us now that we have proven that we will go in and be just as destructive to certain countries as they will and not deterred by a president that they regard as hostile to their religion, culture, and countries.

I heard President Bush say on the Today Show this week that he didn't think the war on terrorism could be won.

Will that statement from the President embolden terrorists?
