A CNN report on the anti-GOP protests contains this gem:

At least 5,000 protesters stood on sidewalks Wednesday morning in a 3-mile line, waving pinks slips to highlight their dissatisfaction with the economy. The demonstration, which stretched from Wall Street to Madison Square Garden, formed a symbolic unemployment line for about 15 minutes to draw attention to the 8.2 million Americans unemployed as of July.

A "symbolic unemployment line"--you've got to love it. As we noted Tuesday, if these people actually were to look for work, the unemployment rate would rise, presumably hurting President Bush's re-election prospects. Bush is lucky his opponents are so lazy.

<<"I haven't read all of Renee's posts but of the many that I have read I can say that she is direct, not rude. Renee is very well informed. I have learned a lot reading her posts, and am honored to have her as our CL.">>......hear hear!! It never ceases to amaze me how Renee's posts are seen as more than her own opinion to which everyone is entitled. It has been explained so mány times that a CL is not asked to be "Switzerland", I wish this would be included in the board-description at the top of the board.

Bóth our CL's are doing an excellent job of running this board! Both are very

I find it vulgar, and I am not going to say I dont drop an f-bomb like anyone else, but when rules are stated in a particular venue I do not try to get away with a half-curse. I find it vulgar that if someone else said that, they might have been banned. When I first came to this board, somebody told me that I was "Ignorant if you believe that" and so I wrote back a post that said, "you are the ignorant one, bla bla bla" Yeah, I was snotty, but I felt justified. I think that we are all adults and since this is not group therapy we can all handle an insult here and there, but I got in trouble for it, so Now I know what the tone is to be, and if I see a CL breaking rules that they are enforcing on others, then I am going to call them on it. I am offended by the idea that a CL can be so uptight against others, but not hold the same expectations on herself. The kids I work with are not allowed to chew gum, lord knows why, but they are not. So, even though I like to chew gum I spit it out, even though the rules do NOT apply to me. If I am going to be among people who are not allowed to chew gum, then I will be considerate.

and to answer your question, no, I dont think Kerry should be cussing it up either, I suspect he did in RS because a good f-bomb gets the respect of some people, and most people dont really care. I do, when it is an example of hipocracy. That is very vulgar.

Hm. then whats up with the pop ups asking if you want to be an Ivillage community leader? I have not gotten one in a while, but I did every time I logged on for a week or so.
