That said, I am voting for Kerry. I have too much information on hand that says to me that the Bush Admin (if not Bush himself) is corrupt. For example, two friends of mine are Baptist- one, a Baptist minister. His wife works for the US Govt., and they both are admitting- when asked (they don't go out of their way to convince other people of how they see the world) that this admin HAS to go. She has a whole list of stories of why this Admin is lying, is wrong, is corrupt, etc. She WORKS for the guy! For anyone who wants to know her opinion on the matter, she says it's absolutely VITAL that the admin. must change. Just yesterday she emailed me to be sure I've registered to vote because "this year it's VERY important." I did already.
I went to see a pro-Kerry demonstration yesterday, & the waving, cheering & horn-tooting from passing cars was overwhelming, with only two "classy" Bush fans giving the crowd the finger. That's my other problem. Someone once told me, "IF people use swear words, it's because they have nothing more intelligent to say." That has remained with me, and I think that idea spreads further into mud-slinging. I just can't support a guy who spends millions on trying to make the OTHER guy look bad. I know the Kerry/Edwards campaign has tried to keep out of the dirt, and keep getting pulled back in because apparently... for many people- negativity works, and therefore they must defend themselves, rather than remain focused on their positive message of a brighter future. I'm not a repub or a dem- both sides are just too mean to each other to want to permanantly affiliate myself with one or the other, and I'll choose my candidates by who I feel is more qualified, not by their leanings alone. I will add, however, that the Kerry folk are LESS mean than the Bush folk, from what I've seen this year. (In person- not on line. I don't follow these threads much... my life is too short to dwell on the kind of anger I find on line.)
Again- I, who believes the world is fully in God's hands, also believe He will use either guy for His greater purposes & I can happily move on to other topics. I just wanted to share a comment or two about my friends, who by default of being Baptist, people assumed would be voting for Bush. Take it or leave it.

I appreciate your post, but two thoughts: First, it would help if you told us *why* your friends think the current administration is corrupt. It doesn't do much good to just tell us they think so, and then expect everyone to accept that at face value. :-)
Second, I think it's a little unfair to judge the entire Bush Administration on the basis of two "fans" who gave people the finger.
If you'd like to elaborate a little more on your thoughts, I for one would appreciate it!
Thanks,
Bev :-)
Every time I hear of another soldiers death, I think it is becuase this administration used faulty info and did not bother to research just a bit longer. They just wanted Hussain at any cost.
Every year that 9-11 comes along, I think about Osama and how he is just out there free and planning for the next.
Every time this administration releases numbers, I have to think what is it now they are hiding from us.
When I hear Bush speak, I am thinking what is it that he is not telling us.
A sign of a good leader is having your people trust you, and I do not trust Bush.
A great leader would not put a city at risk again for his own political gain, after what nyc has been thru.
None of us knows what GOD's plan is, and HE does things that we just can't comprehend. But we all learn something along the way. There was a reason why Hitler came into power, and there was a reason why he was taken out. I like to believe the same will happen to Bush, him being taken out of power this November.
As a Kerry supporter and a Baptist (gasp), I get downright angry when ministers or any other holy rollers try to tell everyone that you are not a true Christian unless you vote for Bush. This may not be the case in your area but in mine it is. Here in the bible belt you have churches that tell you to "Vote God" and then flash a pic of Pres Bush. God gives us the chance to make our own decisions.
Abortion is a HUGE issue and I feel that if Bush is so concerned about human life than he wouldnt have gone to get Saddam the way he did. I honestly think his arrogant mind thought he could waltz in there and "get the job done". Well guess what? Thats not working. Our soldiers are being killed not to mention the huge Iraqi loss of life.
Bush has got to go and this Baptist will be voting for Kerry.
