New York: For the first time since the Presidential race became a two person contest last spring, there is a clear leader, the latest TIME poll shows. If the 2004 election for President were held today, 52% of likely voters surveyed would vote for President George W. Bush, 41% would vote for Democratic nominee John Kerry, and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader, according to a new TIME poll conducted from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. Poll results are available on TIME.com and will appear in the upcoming issue of TIME magazine, on newsstands Monday, Sept. 6.

The Swiftvets have donated *all* their profits to a naval charity. The only thing they have to gain is a decent Commander In Chief for their children and grandchildren.

And, LOL, I have never suggested that he "he shot himself, wounded himself and lied about saving Rasmussen's life after purposely putting the man in danger". That's ridiculous. This is what I believe based on the evidence that the people who were there supplied, that he lied about enemy fire in order to get three purple hearts and get out of there as fast as he could.

And...you can save all the emotion and extra punctuation. It doesn't work with me.

They weren't in any battles there. They provided support. Kerry's diary describes it as boring, tedious.

These are official Naval records. I could care less what your sources say that are taken from people who have an agenda. These records are not Kerry's records or narrative except as he contributed to the story of what happened. Again, these are the official accounts given at the time, not embellished or forgotten years later by someone who was nearby and has an agenda other than the truth.

Pretty pathetic when people will defend a guy who didn't even show up for his National Guard service against a man who served 2 tours of duty in Viet Nam.

I'm waiting for the presidential debates. Hopefully they'll ask tough questions - because he hasn't got answers for the tough ones.

Did anyone see him doing the interview on Irish television? Everytime the woman reporter tried to ask a question he would repeat "I Am Not Done Yet - Will You Please Let Me Finish?" He managed to get through the entire interview by veering off on his own little tangent without ever once answering a serious question. I guess if the U.S. can survive on pure bluff and arrogance, he's our man.

I don't know why the Kerry campaign doesn't simply run a tape of all of Bush's ridiculous blunders, unless of course it would take too long...

OH my god! Only shrapnel. Well, that's just nothing. It is ridiculous for Reps to tear down a guy who went to war to defend a guy who didn't even show up for most of his National Guard duty. Don't ya think??? I think.

It was removed with tweezers. No stitches, just a band-aid...

Kerry served and Bush didn't - Bush took free flight lessons, then bailed. Kerry fought for his country in Viet Nam. You may use all the sarcasm you like. The bottom line remains the same.

Kerry received 3 purple hearts - tweezer, bandaid, or stitches.

Why don't you direct some of your investigative talents towards Bush's service - seems there's a real lack of info there.
