New York: For the first time since the Presidential race became a two person contest last spring, there is a clear leader, the latest TIME poll shows. If the 2004 election for President were held today, 52% of likely voters surveyed would vote for President George W. Bush, 41% would vote for Democratic nominee John Kerry, and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader, according to a new TIME poll conducted from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. Poll results are available on TIME.com and will appear in the upcoming issue of TIME magazine, on newsstands Monday, Sept. 6.

Metrochick is thorough, knowledgeable & knows her stuff - some people just can't understand or interpret the facts when presented.

Once you've been "shot at" you no longer feel invincible. If Kerry had been "shot at" *anywhere* he would not have that cocky invincible feeling.

I know this is the latest story coming from the Kerry handlers, but it doesn't make sense. If he had just told the truth in the first place he and all of these people wouldn't have to be continually making up new stories to try to fit the facts. "What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive."

You really think so, that this was nice spin? I think it was the best they could do under the circumstances, but still pretty transparent...

You're truly baffling. Except for your dodge about Fox in your first paragraph, you just reposted the same exact thing as before....and then taken not one but TWO posts to declare that you've trounced me? Repeat yourself mindlessly....then do a victory dance...you're truly following the Bush administration play book.

<> Yeah...to support your claim that the Kerry campaign has somehow "admitted" the first wound was "self-inflicted" the only evidence you gave was an article which quotes Fox News characterizing what the Kerry people said. Then I showed you why I don't trust characterizations. Please produce an actual quote from the Kerry campaign if you'd like to continue to make this allegation.

Thank you righton2004! It's becoming harder and harder to have a reasonable debate on this board!

Pioneering a new artform - the arrogant self-congratulatory follow-up post. Just what we need around here.

If you disagree with my post, why don't you speak to me directly about it?

You choose to overlook the obvious and the true in your blind support of Kerry.

I'm enjoying seeing Kerry's campaign implode and the desperation of the Leftists.
