New York: For the first time since the Presidential race became a two person contest last spring, there is a clear leader, the latest TIME poll shows. If the 2004 election for President were held today, 52% of likely voters surveyed would vote for President George W. Bush, 41% would vote for Democratic nominee John Kerry, and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader, according to a new TIME poll conducted from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. Poll results are available on TIME.com and will appear in the upcoming issue of TIME magazine, on newsstands Monday, Sept. 6.

A little discretion would be nice, but I understand. I'd already taken care of it. BTW

and Cheney's continuing ties to Haliburton?>>

I believe a judge ruled that allegations against Halliburton were baseless quite some time ago.

So what is Kerry running on now (besides his war hero status, that is)?

>>Why is that an issue?<<

Untendered contracts waste taxpayers money.

>> Newsflash: Cheney dissassociated himself with Halliburton before the PREVIOUS election. <<

In spite of Cheney's 'disassociation' he still holds Haliburton stock options and draws a deferred salary.

Then there's the SEC inquiry into Haliburton while Cheney was at the helm

But didn't Kerry's Big Dig project waste taxpayers' money?

How so?

The stock options are part of his deferred salary which he can't do anything to change. Even if Halliburton goes bankrupt, his insurance kicks in to complete the payoff for his defferred salary. Those arrangements were made before he knew he would be involved in a potential Bush administration. He has donated his deferred salary to charity every year he has been in office.

Actually the only proven liar in this election is John Kerry.

He lied about his first Purple Heart.

He lied about being in Cambodia.

He lied about keeping his boat at the scene of the mine explosion where he pulled Rassman from the water to provide covering fire.

With regards to your comment about the $87 Billion appropriations bill, Kerry himself said before the vote that it would be totally irresponsible of an elected official to vote against this funding. I guess he is irresponsible then, by his own words.

Bush isn't going to win this election as much as Kerry is going to cost himself the election with his very own mouth.

Kerry was actually in country for 4 months, but served a prior 12 months aboard the USS Gridley.

Have you seen where the Navy is now doing a thorough investigation into Kerry's medals?

I read in another post where the Navy wants to see why Kerry has a Bronze or Silver Star (can't recall) with a 'V', which is supposedly the only one in the history of the Navy.

I cannot confirm this, and can't seem to locate the thread where I read it.

Have you heard anything about this?

But the USS Gridley was not in Vietnam. During his first tour he served in the Gulf of Tonkin, and at Subic Bay in the Philippines and in Wellington, New Zealand.
