Today I was leaving school, walking thru the parking lot and talking to my friend Kristi on the phone, when I passed a car that was covered with anti-abortion stickers all over the rear window, so much that it there was only a square foot space for the driver to see through, (So I asked myself how pro life that person could really be since traffic fatalities did not seem to mean a thing to him, and it was indeed a him, because i saw him driving later on today)

FIRST THING FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM A PRO LIFE LIBERAL!!!!

My friend Kristi, who I was talking ot on the phone as I walked by is a social worker. I told her about this car and she said something that I found to be very thoughtful and I wanted to share it with anyone who is a real pro lifer. She said, "If those people are so pro life, why don't they become foster parents? Or volunteer in the big brothers big sisters program? Or donate money or time to teen parenting aide programs, or teen sex education? If a person is really pro life, why stop with the unborn, it seems hypocritical..." I thought what she said made a whole lot of sense. Being a pro life liberal, it made me examine my own life, and what I am doing to support life that already exists.

And that, to keep on topic with this board, made me ask which party is helping more with these lives that exist already? obviously none of them are going to outlaw abortion, but, who is more willing to help these kids when they are born?

These people are trying to keep track of Iraqi civilian deaths. So far they figure it's somewhere between 11793 and 13802.

Abstinence is free. Thinking before you act is free. Waiting until you can afford a child before you have sex is free.

I'm misinformed to think that sex leading to pregnancy is common knowledge? I've known since I was five years old how babies are made, and I've never met ONE single person since I was 10 that DIDN'T know sex leads to pregnancy, so what isolated part of the world did you grow up in where sex=children was NOT common knowledge?

Second, I didn't say that the ONLY purpose for sex is procreation. I said that its MAIN purpose is procreation. In any case, I don't believe that the ability to have orgasms or produce multiple sperm means we should be allowed to kill the children that result from them.

I find it funny that you seem to think that you know all about what I have and haven't experienced. I HAVE faced decisions such as food vs. birth control, I HAVE been down and defeated trying to make ends meet, so don't sit there and tell me I have no right to judge. I was dirt poor, unmarried, uneducated, and pregnant at age 20 by a man I had known less than a month with NO hope of being able to care for my child, so I DO know what it's like to be in that situation, and I thank God every day that I didn't kill my child, because he is the light of my life now. HE is the main reason I oppose abortion, because every time I look at him I KNOW what a horrible crime against God I would have committed had I chosen to kill him before he was born.

Being depressed does not give you the right to kill a child. Being ignorant and irresponsible does not give you the right to kill a child. Being poor and despondent does not give you the right to kill a child, and just because someone has sex instead of taking drugs doesn't give them the right to kill a child either.
